My friend bought himself another hotrod

I'm hoping I get to give it a try.

And what is it exactly? There are so many companies making replicas of that car.

There's not a 427 in it now, maybe later, hard to find I think. I think its a 302 ci

It's a local build from about 25 yrs ago. Owner didn't want it so my bud bought it.
Needs a better Cobra look. Needs Halibrands. and other stuff . But it's a good driver, and I know he'll make it better.

A Cobra is just a classic sexy shape . So iconic I always loved them . Not very practical but must be a hoot to drive .

In 1970 I could have bought a 289 Cobra with a blown engine for $5000. I didn't have all the money and the bank didn't think it was worth a $2500 loan.

Sounds like a rip-off.
Average new car in 1970 was $3500

I had a beauty lined up a couple years before at $5500 and same thing, not enough money. Bought a 9 month old 914 instead.

Looks slow and boring. Why would you want to test drive it?

I like that it's green. So often they are red or blue. I remember seeing one around Houston a time or two where the stripes looked like snakeskin. Not my thing, but to each his own.

I'm sure I'm unusual in this, but I far prefer the narrow bodied cars to the others.

They sure do look fun. I prefer the narrow body too. They look a little too much like an austin healey but its a good luck anyway. Though im sure you would want wider tires with a 427. I dont know why eveybody puts bfg radial t/a on them they are terrible. Hot rod guys i guess

Yeah, you're right why bother. I suppose if he begs me I might give it a try.

No fondness for large rear ends.

Nice....a big engine, a cupla seats, 4 wheels and a round thing to steer...my idea of driving...love it.

That blue AC/Cobra with the Borrani wheels absolutely nails the look that those of us (of a certain age) fell in love with at first sight.
Young Lust.

(I'll take mine in Chrome Yellow)

Yellowperil, I can't wait to hear your report on how you like driving the reproduction!

The Cobras have always been on the list for me. I would like a Superformance car with a short-stroke small block ford. My cousin had one with a 427 and it just felt like the front was too heavy.
