A friend had a Superformance with a built 351 in it if I recall correctly. He was kind enough to let me and another friend of ours drive it around the block, alone.
I didn't get over the whiplash I gave myself for two weeks after that drive. Scary quick HARD acceleration like I'd never felt before or since.
Makes my neck hurt just thinking about it now.

Had a friend that bought one. Said he always wanted one. After a year he sold it. Burnt ankles from the side pipes and worrying about not being able to catch it if it gets sideways plus his wife said she'd never ride in it which doesn't sound like a real problem.

I wouldn't kick a narrow body out of the garage . Another classic shape just different . Superformance definitely builds some nice stuff . Many of the kit builders have closed shop . The ones left standing I think build pretty good stuff .

They are an iconic shape and cool but original AC Cobras were an absolute torture chamber to drive or ride in. No one ever kept one for long because they simply were not usable. The polar opposite of a 911, which was an everyday usable car.

The heat from the engine/transmission tunnel turned them into a literal oven and they were extremely loud and uncomfortable. People like to romanticize fantasies of cars but they were a POS in actual practice. Sorry.

That fridge is full of Bud Light, isn't it

Dude, sort of a long way around the barn to make a tranny fluid joke, cool car though. I like uncomfortable, impractical cars

Nice car, I'd keep the small block in it if it was mine.

If I could afford to own one I'd build a small block Chevy with a roller rocker cam and put a '65 Rockchester big box fuel injection unit on it. Just to piss off the purists.

Ahhhhhh, just throw a Hemi in it!!!

Carroll Shelby always preferred the original 289 Cobra with the narrow body, said they just handled better.

So I got to road test this "Cobra" and it's quite nice. Needs a few little things, nothing serious. Drives nice I enjoyed it. I may get to drive it a bit more as I'm the only one who can fit in it. . I knew it would come in handy some day to be under size.

Dennis, you're not undersized, you're vertically challenged.

A couple of guys back in that day got an Austin Healey and dropped a SBC in it. First thing they did was hit the pedal hard and the seats broke off the mounts.

Well, that was a safety factor. Hard to keep your foot down when you're in the trunk.
