only because the this is the second gen of the car. if it was a first gen, everyone would be having those argument all over again. its not 2012 or whenever that car came out.

sadly, the problem with the engine in the 86 has never been power output, its always been that its a subaru engine so it blows up consistently. and the second gen actually has that even worse than the first gen.

right the current car. There isnt a "needs a turbo brigade". The old car was legitimately slow enough to warrant some whining, especially with the midrange dip in torque/power.

subaru engines blow up its what they do. Excess rtv on the oilpan is an embarrassment but isnt the end of the world for most.

its not that the car got faster.

its that the argument got boring.

I think there are a lot of people ot there that go by 'ring times and not how fun the car is.

I would rather have a tossable car than one with a razor edge at the limit. Unless I were racing for money, then all out performance matters.

The BRZ sports car is one of today's most exciting, affordable automobiles. Like its Toyota GR86 mechanical twin, it emphasizes driving fun. It's small, light, and nimble. That and ingredients like vivid steering feedback, a standard six-speed manual transmission, and a low seating position cook up entertainment the way only a well-honed compact rear-drive coupe can. Its these traits that earned the BRZ a spot on our 10Best cars list.

CP - since you mentioned Mustang above so I started looking at them. I have no idea which model you were referring to but I came across the GT350 (no longer available) and the new Mach 1. Wow. Seriously nice. I would have a Mach 1 today but I can’t justify that price for a new car that is not practical for winter around here. Seriously impressive. The other Mustang models with their full iPad dashboards look horrible, like BMW now - I don’t mind the screens in the AMG CLA series for some reason. Seems to work for me in those

I really love that Mach I and much prefer that to the new Z. Haven’t driven either but going by the videos…

I think I prefer the manual in this car but here’s Jays video on it

Nice
