Sounds a little F1ish.

There was nothing worse at the track, than the sound of a Mazda engine. Bwaaaaappp… Bwaaaaappp… Bwaaaaappp!!!!

Saw some in person at a Rolex event years back and hated the sound. This one is a bit sweeter though.

Very nice, and yes, kind of like an F1 car in slow motion with a noisy gearbox thrown in for good measure.

Sounds a lot like my old miata!

We used to run a three rotor in a ‘58 sprite autocross car. Completely different sound to the ear splitting twin rotors.

A few years ago the Mazda crew told me that there was only a very few remaining 4 rotors.
Back when it was Mazda Laguna Seca raceway, Mazda would display and run 3 of the vintage 4 rotor race cars.
I liked when Jeremy Barnes was driving this RX7 4 rotor.

I found a video of it! This must be just after my friend sold it when it still had the 3-rotor. Last I heard it had a 13B 2-rotor turbo.

Turn up the volume!

Really? I had no idea. That's interesting. I'd always assumed it was actually 12k. But now that seems more like marketing BS.

The shaft spins at full rpm (we ran 9k on the 3 rotor and 10k at nationals) while the rotors turn 1/3 of crank rpm.

Back in the day my oldest son and I at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Top class prototypes were V12 Ferrari 333SP , Jim Downing Mazda Kudzu and Panoz Batcar with large V8 . One of the best ways on earth to ruin your hearing 😁

24 hours of Daytona in 1984 or 1985, three of the damn things pitted in the spot just behind us. There was seemingly always one of them in the pits and they made a hell of a racket. Hated them then, hate them now…

This car had a 4 rotor engine in it and the owner had brought it from Japan where he had raced it in a series they had over there. I was soooooo loud at full bore on the main straight at Willow Springs I had to put on ear protection even at my trailer parking area! It was super high pitched.
