^My current 911 has the Porsche ceramic brakes and it is like the hand of god reaching down to stop you, it is crazy how well they work and feel. I never had an SC since my oldest 911 so far was the '86 so that is interesting you liked the feeling of the SC more.

I installed the 930 braking system on my '88 .... it may not stop any faster, but it feels like god is using both hands | ||

The car that started my personal 911 journey looked just like that, Black targa, turbo tail and all. Congrats on the sell, Congrats to the new owner. As much as I enjoyed my early car, if I was to ever get another one, it would be another targa. Great california car.

It's hard to describe....but the SC brakes feel like my foot is directly on the brake pad and the more I push the faster it stops....a very direct feeling. I know other brakes do the same....but they don't feel as direct. My 84 Carrera stops great...but doesn't feel as good as the 78 SC.

Stock Carrera brakes are great, and will absolutely lock 'em up, but the larger Turbo calipers/rotors and master cylinder have a much different feel too .... they may not stop any faster, but they sure "feel better" .... so I get it | ||

Damn that is a pretty car. Black cars are a love hate relationship . I too am 70 years old and keeping a black car looking good is just more work than I am up for.

^^^ JD Thanks Nothing nicer than a clean, polished black car under the street lights. After that, be ready to clean the car again the next day because you can see every speck of dirt on it.

It was too close to determine. But they wouldn't have named it Super Carrera unless it was.

That's interesting. I drove a 3.2 one time but it didn't seem so free reving as the SC. Felt like it was going to blow up when over 6,000rpm, whereas the SC likes it. | ||

I've owned my SC for 22 years now. Not sure I could ever sell it. My son went with me to buy it on Saturday, Cinco de Mayo 2001 and was 9 years old. I think he considers the car part of his inheritance now.
