Timeshare question...can I rent out my prebooked week instead of depositing it?

We have a beautiful 2 bedroom timeshare in Kauai which we've used annually for the last 18 years. I've already booked our week for April 2024 in probably the best (best view by far) timeshare room available at that resort. I'm pretty sure the resort would recommend that I deposit the week and bank it for future use. Can I instead rent it out on my own and if so how do I go about doing that? What website should I use?

Cheers!

I’ve never done it but I think other people have used RedWeek or tug2.net.

We've rented out a timeshare by advertising on Craigslist. Had the same family actually rent it out for about 4 years consecutively. I think we had to pay $129 or so in admin fees to allow our "guests" to use it.

Don't ask us. Check the timeshare sales agreement and covenants.

The company will gladly bill you a fee while allocating the time slot to another owner.

Thanks for the info! It seems pretty straightforward so I'll probably go that route. I do see a few listings from my home resort so that's encouraging.

Off hand has anyone else ever offered their timeshare week for rent to fellow PPOT members here? In this regard I have rented a condo in Kauai from fellow PPOT member Tevake (Richard) back in 2018...I have not seen him post as of late? I do hope he is doing OK since moving to Florida sometime ago.

Cheers!
