Vanna White's salary
First off, let me say I have never watched this show but of course I'm familiar with it... I just don't watch game shows.
There is a story out now that with Pat Sajak retiring Vanna has finally thought it was time she got a raise - she has not had one in 18 years. There is also some talk that she should make equal pay to Pat Sajak (who was making 15M to Vanna's 3M). Why did she wait so long to advocate for herself? The timing is not good for her because the producers may feel that it's time for a completely new lineup. She might even be shown the door (I hope not for her sake). Her bargaining power would have been far better 10 or 15 years ago. Does she deserve equal pay to the host? She should probably be making much more than she is after 40 years on the air but it's a very different job. She does have to look good 100% of the time and come across with grace and poise with the occasional byplay with the host. The host, on the other hand, also has to look good all the time, has to speak on camera, and interact with contestants. A very different job than letter turner. I wonder why Vanna waited do long?

G'day!

She'll get her raise.
She has leverage. If she leaves....the ratings will drop faster than a blink of the eye!

If I got a raise to 3 mil/year 18 years ago and was still making "just" 3 mil today, I'd be okay with that.

She should just leave. The show needs some new young blood. She isn't want she used to be.

I think the opposite, with Sajak leaving, it is a perfect time to re-cast her role as well.

Outstanding career. I remember an afternoon celebrity show where they were quoting Sarah Jessica Parker's salary at the peak of that Sex in the City show. Like $40-50 million per year. Her Husband, Matthew Broderick (Ferris Beuhler) was asked how much he makes. He said, "I don't know, four million or so. I do what I can."

I can't imagine walking back and forth on the stage in high heels all those years hasn't really messed her up. How much longer does she intend to work for crissakes?
BTW, google lists her birthyear as 1957 making her 66ish. And she is worth 85 million due in part to real estate investments. She should be able to draw SS w/o a penalty for earnings. |

3 million per year to put on pretty dresses and makeup, smile, and turn a letter. Not a bad gig. At her age does she really need more money? Just retire, and go on vacation full time.
Whatever she wants to do, so be it. I have not watched a game show in more decades than I can remember. I honestly think this is just a few points more interesting than the British royal families, and they are pretty much the only thing above the Kardasahians as they are at negative interest from me, and the royals at zero interest.

I am in a minority here: I record WoF.
But, I only watch the first two toss ups, hit pause and try and decide who I think will win. I then FF to the final whatever. I run about 60% to the good in picking the winner. Takes five minutes but I enjoy it. Vanna White? Great gig indeed.

she's got the shortest Resume ever, doesn't even have to "turn" letters around, just prances like a filly mare back and forth. I don't think she wears the same dress twice.........could be wrong.

$3M/year 18 years ago would have been a TON compared to now.
Definitely wrong time to renegotiate. Hell - she's earned todays equivalent of about $100M plus whatever endorsement money she got (probably double) so....

That's horrible. I'd throw myself on that grenade to save her.

With $3MM you'd think she could afford to eat more...
