spoon holder for appendix carry
Anyone carry their spoon in the front (appendix carry)?
If so, any recommendation on a spoon-holder for that position. Do you carry dead center or do you carry slightly off to the side closer to your spoon holding hand? I've been testing. My holder works, but I am curious and may try something a little different (more compact). My holder is like this, and I carry slightly to the side rather than dead center. ![]()

The Crossbreed Reckoning is my go to for several pistols. AIWB at 12:30 . I has a ton of adjustments for cant, height, and an adjustable tension devise holding the pistol in place. I really like the hybrid Leather/Kydex.
I also have a Vedder LightTuck. The Vedder is lighter/smaller but for me the Reckoning is more comfortable. Both have a retention that snaps when it is locked in. Both quality. Both about the same price.

It's a gun and dangerous no matter what. The most dangerous time seems to be when holstering, and you don't need to be in a hurry then, so take some extra time to be safe when putting the gun up. Also, make sure that the holster that you have is a quality holster that's made in a way to help minimize the possibility of ND when holstering.

I've never been a fan of appendix carry. It's damn near impossible to get the gun out when sitting. Restaurant, car, whatever.

IWB 3o'clock (maybe more like 330) is next to impossible for me in the car. Between the sport seats in the boxster and the seat belt, I can't get to the gun. Appendix is easier. A seatbelt is in the way no matter what in the car, but easier to get around in the appendix position.

This decision requires balancing various considerations. No solution is perfect. My carry spoon is a Smith 442 black "airweight" hammerless .38 revolver. I use an ordinary IWB holster located behind my left front pocket and tilted outward so that the barrel is not pointing at my leg. For me, this makes the spoon far quicker and easier to unholster than behind-the-back or 3:00.

Appendix carry is, in my view, beyond frightening. It points the barrel directly at the femoral artery and vein. A shot there means you would have maybe 15 seconds to live, tops.

I'd call that appendix carry, but I know what you mean, many/most of the appendix carry pics/videos that I've seen have them far more central.

Well... My "appendix spoon holder" would have to be pointing at the 3:00 or 9:00 position to avoid sausage endangerment.
Sucks being well endowed. ![]()

With how little pistols are nowdays, and how much sitting everyone does, I wonder if shoulder holsters will make a comeback.

Shoulder carry? You really have to dress around the gun if you have any hope of true concealed carry.
