Dial of Destiny movie
I saw the new Indiana Jones movie, Dial of Destiny. Really liked it.
I don’t think I’m giving anything away by saying that there is an early part set during WW2, for which Harrison Ford was digitally de-aged. I thought the effect was fantastic - I’d read some critics complain that the de-aged Indy lacked life in his eyes, and all I can say is “are you wanking to still frames?” because with the action and movement, if that’s even true, it is indiscernible. Seems to be a movie where the critics are negative and tue audience is positive.

We saw it on Friday as we were at the beach on vacation. Overall a decent movie and story line.
I'd have to say - the "de-ageing" of Harrison was a bit too extreme myself. I'm not being supercritical about it and saying it ruined the segment - but I didn't think it was as lifelike and realistic as it could have been. It was almost exaggerated to the point of him looking too young and having no skin blemishes, etc.

Good interview here. Chris' comment about Harrison playing his roles as someone vunerable is a good observation.

I really enjoyed the movie. As good as any other in the series. Had all the required elements of an I.J. movie. The CGI of Ford was really good IMO! Everyone I went with thought it was probably unused film shot back in the day
![]() I thought for sure Indy would stay in Rome.

Indiana Jones movies are like pizza and mopeds. Even if they are bad, they are still pretty good. I want to see it. But then I'm also able to suspend my disbelief and enjoy a movie that's only entertaining. It doesn't have to be deep.

I remember when they made Blade Runner : The Final Cut, they hired Harrison Ford's son to redo the scene where he's questioning the artificial snake salesman and pasted it in so the movement of his mouth matched the dialogue. And they hired Joanna Cassidy to run the scene where she was shot running through glass to get rid of the stunt woman's face.

welp...can't agree. this is Indiana Jones' swan song, being a whiny, broken down *****?
I will continue my false belief that "Last Crusade " was the end of all Indiana Jones movies and the final (2) were Bobby-Ewing style Dallas events.

Dial of Destiny movie
Mrs. Bugs n I saw it on the 30th when our local theater opened for the day. We have always liked the stories and effects and was looking forward to seeing it. Planning on taking my dad to see it, a second time for me when that happens. He and I saw the first few together years ago so it kinda our thing. He turns 80 on the 6th so I think he will enjoy it too.
We both enjoyed the movie and thought all of the small references to all the movies throughout the film was pretty funny. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
