We, this has been a Different 4th.

Well, July is off to a interesting start, just a few days before my Mother's 86th birthday, which is already dampened because of my sister's failing health ( terminal cancer )
So if it wasn't bad enough watching her daughter die before her eyes, one of her good friends, for some unknown reason, Decided that it would be a good idea to get on the roof of another friend's house and move something off the screen enclosure over the pool, well, she fell and is now in the hospital. Why a couple of 70 year old women would think it was a good idea to climb on a roof is one thing, but the one who fell has a guy for that type of stuff. So, I am back in my office taking care of a few things, that I needed to print for a meeting Thursday, while it sounds like a Saturday night in Chicago because of the fireworks, when I get a notification that someone is at the front door.
So now I am wondering what I going on now. It turns out that my Mother is the emergency contact for her friend (even though the other friend was at the hospital with her) and the hospital sent a police officer to my house since they couldn't reach my mother.
Won't know what is going on, other than Adele is in serious condition and positive thoughts, vibes and prayers appreciated.

yes, difficult...for me to. Heard today of the recent death of a dear friend, a buddy since childhood. Weird coincidence, I'm sure.

Wow, that doesn't sound so good. Hopefully she'll recover without any lingering issues.

Go start a thread in PARF. Your post has nothing to do with this thread.

Well, sadly, she is not doing well, went to a attorney to see how we could protect her assets , but being that she has no brain activity, and the doctor's are ready to unplug her, and I have to be there for that and to read the will. Not looking forward to this weekend.

Thanks guys, the hits keep coming, my long time friend Teddy ND
gettinghiskeyscopiedand con
Who's son lives in California, has decided that Teddy can't take care of himself and is threatening to have his driver's license taken away, ect. Teddy knows that if he needs anything that I am only a phone call away and maybe a mile and a half and I take him to medical appointments when he needs me to. But his son's latest actions have him very upset and he told me that he wants to have a serious talk with me next week. I told him that it sounds like I am in trouble (not letting him know what else is going on, as thhe o teddwill say that I have too much to deal with and he doesn't want to be a burden) For those who don't know, Teddy will 93 his next birthday.
And he is a long time Air cooled car guy.

Well, we had that serious talk yesterday, and Teddy told me what he wanted to do, he knew that he didn't have long left, said that he is just worn out and suffering. I checked on him again yesterday afternoon, and let him know that 8t he didn't answer the phone or the door, that I would break in (we were getting his keys copied and setting up the rest this week)
I picked up a few things for him and came by this morning, and he didn't answer. , but he was hard of hearing and didn't have any tools with, so I took my mother her heart medication and kept trying to reach Teddy. Well, I stopped by the house to pick a few tools and went back to Teddy's. After I got in, and did a search through the house, as I got to the kitchen, my worst fears were confirmed.
After looking closely, it was very clear and I immediately called 911. EMTs were the first ones there , and they confirmed that he had been gone for a while. At that point I started trying to reach his son in California and the sheriff deputies arrived and I explained who I am and why I did what I did. So I had to stay around a few more hours and I had to make the funeral arrangements.

Well Brothers, it has been one hell of a weekend, well, week.
After seeing the attorney on the one estimate (commercial property never moved out of her father's name, so we needed a specialist) on Monday, and the hospital took Adele off the ventilator that afternoon. On Tuesday, the ambulance took my sister to the hospital to begin treatment for her cancer. Wednesday we were informed that her COPD was too severe and they could not treat her. Then we were informed that she was not expecting to be with us by Friday. Well, Saturday morning when I called to check on my mother, she informed me that Adele died Friday night, and that her lifelong best friend died on Friday night as well. A few minutes later, she called and found out that her other lifelong childhood friend had also passed, plus they were going to transition my sister for hospice, but didn't think that she would survive it. So Sunday morning I called, very worried about what I would be told, my mother informed me that it took over 8 hours to transition her, but she made it and hospice was setting up for my sister to come home. I picked my Mother up from the hospital and we headed to my Aunts house. A few minutes later, the ambulance arrived and brought my sister in, got her comfortable. Seeing my sister like that really hit me hard, and typically when really stressed, I grab one of my bikes and just ride, but between the heat and me being a very high stroke risk, I chose to swim instead. Then last night, my Mother called, in tears and informed me that my sister passed a few minutes ago.
