Insurance coverage?
After working on my suspension yesterday, and driving to Atlanta today, I started wondering if something broke that I worked on or in general that leads to a wreck with body damage, does insurance cover everything or just the body work?
Anybody been there? Edit. And I always double check my fasteners with a torque wrench when reassembling but you never know… Last edited by A930Rocket; 07-24-2023 at 05:48 AM.. |

Comprehensive coverage will cover damage from a covered cause of loss.
I suspect mechanical repair gone wrong would be excluded but you should check. Coverage will not be restricted for body work. |

If the suspension is damaged due to the crash they will fix it, unless of course it exceeds the value of the car. Then they total it. If damage is determined to be from a prior accident, or not directly due to the current one, you're on your own.

I will never forget that gut punch I felt when I walked into my garage and looked at my 911 on four jack stands and no suspension. I was in the middle of a total suspension refurbish, all new rubber bushings of anything rubber, turbo tie rods, new shocks, and torsion bars and just a total refurbish.
It was a scary feeling lowering it down for my test drive. I drove it right to be aligned, corner balanced, and ride height adjustment. It turned out perfect. That was many years ago, and all is still fine.
