OBD 2 EVAP monitor displays "dis" instead of ok or inc
2009 Pontiac G8
Needed an under the hood EVAP purge valve. It's the solenoid that opens up when you are cruising to suck the fumes out of the charcoal canister into the intake. Old was stuck open and threw an Excess Purge Flow code. Trying to clear OBD monitors. This is what I see. Anybody know what "dis" means? Have never seen it. I wonder if it's specific to GM? The scanner manual shows a similar screen but does not describe "dis". ![]()

Just found this. Disabled.
Disabled meaning that the test has been disabled for the rest of this monitoring cycle. A monitor can be disabled when there is no easy way for the driver to operate the vehicle to allow the monitor to run. For example, the ambient air temperature might be too low or too high. It may have to do with the amount of fuel in the car but there is a reason.

I figured it was just insulting you and it dised you! Likely the first insult you have ever had!

I remember that one day I did not receive an insult or constructive criticism.
