Look on the bright side for the Lions. There’s always next century.

Purdy put the offense on his legs and ran some.
A tale of two halves…. Great season Detroit, Dan C. needs to learn when to take points… |

I and the Chief Sandwicher are sitting on the couch yelling, ‘Kick the ****ing ball, you moron!’ He didn’t hear either one of us, apparently.

^^^^ Soooo... you do know ya have to stand up when yelling at the TV to get results doncha? Two great games ... somebody has to "not-win", and only two teams move on....
And that's why they play the game and decide it on the field.... a different day and it might have been a Ravens-Lions matchup for the Bowl. Didn't really care who won ... just wanted to see two fun games to watch... and so ... I won ![]() |

i enjoyed watching both games. I was rooting for the Lions but there are consequences for not taking point and making mistakes. The NFC Central will be much more competitive this upcoming season.
And the Chiefs are a money team - they have the coaching and playoff experience that gives them the edge. The 49ers maybe the favorite but that Chiefs get the edge in playoff performance.

First thing I thought of when he went for that first irrational conversion, well actually the second, was ‘inexperience’.
Then he did it AGAIN! I wonder what the OC was telling him. |

Sometimes it works ... sometimes it doesn't ... in yesterday's game ... it didn't.
Just my .02 .... he didn't change his strategy that got 'em to that point. Detroit is an easy team to like .... bright future too! So.... as the thread title indicates.... look forward to 2024 ![]() Could be a LOT worse imo.... they could be the Panthers .... or TS could dump Travis and hook up with Goff ![]() |

I felt bad for Jackson. That game was the worst time for a bad day at the office. Flowers not controlling his emotions, or the ball certainly didn't help.

Lack of discipline rears its ugly head in the playoffs and super bowl . Stupid penalties like taunting are drive killers . Play a disciplined 60 minutes and if you win shoot your mouth off in the locker room .

Yep, long and bright future. Lions fans are looking forward to their next serious run at the Super Bowl that happens every 67 years or so, as in 2091 AD. There's some real disappointment permeating these parts. |

Maybe the Lions and Ravens could have a game and donate the gate funds to charity or something like that, just to see who would have won that match up.

A consolation match. Hmmm. That could be a money maker.

Anyone that followed the Lions this season should know that it's been Campbell's tendency to take a risk that got them to the position they were in. When he was hired in as coach he said he would not take the football out of the offenses hands on 4th downs...within reason.
As far as disappointment from fans...sure another win or two would been great, but every fan I have seen was proud of them. https://www.aol.com/dan-campbell-detroit-lions-wont-054642693.html “I love it,” Goff said. “We’ve got to convert … He believes in us. He believes in us. I don’t know what the numbers are, but we had a lot of big-time conversions this year that changed games.”

Works that way in pool too. The player who is best at controlling his emotions has an advantage. Easier said than done, of course. At the pro level of any game, the pressure is huge.

Goff’s quote (#354) was prior to the game in question, I believe.
I’ll bet Goff was not happy with those calls. Update: Nope. It looks like he said it after the game. Last edited by Crowbob; 01-29-2024 at 01:10 PM.. |

They said they sold out Ford Field for watching the game on big screens at $20 a head.
I bet Lions fans would pay that or a little more to see them play the Ravens.

The first reg game of this season Detroit beat KC at Arrowhead.
I was hoping for a replay. TS schedule is bad for her at the SB ![]() https://sports.yahoo.com/will-taylor-swift-attend-the-super-bowl-her-concert-tour-schedule-makes-it-tough-232217428.html
