I have never pulled out my phone in a grocery store .... not even for "The Wimmins of Walmart" pics
Yes, but it’s not what it is. It’s just a bar code.
Now the redirect to a web site they’ve bundled in can be well dodgy, but the actual qr is fairly innocuous.

Of course personally I despise the places that think it’s an acceptable substitute for a menu. I go out to not use my phone…

QR codes are basically the next generation of bar codes, allowing a bit more data as well as redundancy so if part of a label is damaged then it will still scan correctly

Biggest risks are in the app that reads them and whatever they point to - website etc
I've seen QR codes that were glued over the genuine one...

Yup. But again, any maliciousness won't be in the content of the QR code, it will be in what the QR code is pointing to.

UNTIL... an exploit is announce and goes unpatched in popular readers. In that case, all bets are off.

Like I posted before - the risk is in bad software reading it (and allowing execution of content) or in the website, etc. that it is pointing to.

The freezer was loaded with frozen sandwiches, pizzas, and flatbreads all from the same mfr.
No need to apply stickers to the product or shelves. Just fill it when needed.
No price on the self, no sale. They're hoping you won't notice the prices are inflated by the time you get to the register. What's next? They won't give you an itemized receipt with prices? Just pay what they tell you.
