Stupid Expensive Burger King Whopper

about once a year I'll go to burger king for their whoppers............

but today, holy crap.

Whopper only, no fries no drink, $11.

sigh, I can't imagine the young people today, that are only making $15-20 an hour. Work an hour for a burger?

I know of a couple/few places where I will pay $8-20 for a burger, but they are really good burgers, much better than something fast food. I can't imagine that there's any possibility of any fast food places changing their ingredients and product so much that they'd be worth $11 for a burger. Maybe if it was some sort of 5lb super burger that's free if you can eat it in 20 mins or something. And then you're paying for quantity, not quality.

I don't think I've eaten a whopper in 40 years (or a Big Mac, or Royale with Cheese or anything from the big three burger emporiums) but I needed to check that out, and at least one web site shows the Whopper in September of 2023 as costing 4.19. I'm not disputing your post, but why was yours 11bucks?

A whopper meal with medium drink is $13ish here. A double cheeseburger meal, which has more meat, is $6.50. I don't get why the whopper is spendy.

Fastfoodmenuprices.com must be way off.

Alden & Harlow in Harvard Square has a $19 burger, I think they limit to 20 per night, they are always sold out by 7, most times earlier. Worth $19 all day long. Vermont raised cows with their own grind and house made buns.

Whoppers are $5 here I think.

I know it's a long way to travel for a Whopper burger, but here in NZ it works out at US$5.78

Was on the phone with Spectrum earlier discussing Internet connection issues and I asked how much of a refund we will be getting from that issue with Disney.

She said $15.

My reply....."$15? You can't even buy a hamburger for $15!"

I have no idea what fast food costs now.

I know a place where I can get the best won ton soup I have ever had for $15 a quart. Played little league with the owner

Whopper, fries and Coke. $1.50.

Before my sister passed, I went and picked up 6 krystal cheese burgers and 4 regular, it cost more than the steak, baked potato and adult sized Foster at Outback the day before. Who would ever think that krystal burgers would cost more than a steak dinner at an actual restaurant.

A McDonald's at a rest area on 95N in Darien, Connecticut made the news earlier this year with their pricing. Heavy traffic, a captive audience, and a McD policy that allows the franchisees to set their own prices led to this location charging:

$17.59 for a Big Mac Meal
$18.99 for a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal
18.29 for a 10 piece McNugget Meal
$17.00 for 2 Cheeseburgers

I was working on reviving my neighbors rouge a few days ago. It had been sitting for atleast 2 years. We cleaned out some of the garbage in there and there was a burger under the seat. Still looked perfectly good just a little stiff. Yeah even the microbes dont consider it food.

I'm lucky. My body refuses to accept BK/Mac/Wendys as food. If I eat it BAD things happen so I don't eat it.

I don't eat much burgers anymore but I sure love a good burger now and then. I am not wasting my time with a fast food burgers, that's for sure. We have a upscale burger joint we go to once every so often with the boys. Its one of those build your own or you specify what goes in your food down to the different type dressings. I had a buffalo burger. 25 bucks, a beer and some Brussels sprouts. For the two of us (each of us had one beer), it was 85 bucks. Left a 100 bucks. food has gotten crazy expensive. Just you wait, some of the politicians are pushing for a 25 dollar min wage. Its bad enough at 17-18 bucks they are hurting for workers. Go figure.

Something is wrong with that number. Provide a little more data.

Basic Whopper is $4.19 per the below.
