My granddaughter is now living with us and we like her VERY much, but she does need some help. She is surprisingly sweet and intelligent and playful, given what she has been through.
Also, my Check Engine light went off. Code said it was an O2 sensor failure but after disconnecting the battery and installing new spark plugs, the computer seems happy now. |
Also, I don't see how Skip could be any luckier than I am. Retired. Beautiful, intelligent wife who is perfect for me. We have our health and happiness.
Would love to meet Skip one day. We are not that far apart. |
The stock market this week making me very happy 😊

OK, I have something to be happy about. Our little rocket girl is expecting our first grandchild, due in June.
Little rocket man, and I were planning on going to Europe in June, but that has been nixed until next year. |
Decorating for the holidays can be lots of tedious work but satisfaction sets in after all is in order. So that's happy.
Then comes January. |
A bit of a wrench here, but yesterday we found out my MIL has stomach cancer. And my good health made me happy.

I'm alive. I hope to retire next month. Financially I'm in very good shape. Debt free and have a great wife to share my life with.

My friends at PPOT are making me happy. So many of you have had kind words and words of encouragement about my ongoing health issues. Even though I've only met a couple of you, I feel like I have the support of a lot of friends. It's hard to put into words how much that means to me.

Today, I watch my baby girl accept her Masters Degree in counseling.
She has a 4.0 for the entire 6 years. We are so happy for her because she initially didn't go to college because she didn't have a passion for anything. It took a while but once she figured it out she has dedicated herself to achieving her goal. Way to go Jess! Yeah I know I'm bragging and normally I call that out on others but I really feel that my wife and I cannot take any credit for her accomplishment (other than "El-sha-dad" paying for the car, computers, tuition, books, living expenses, and bills, bills, & more bills ) |

Just finished supper I cooked for our little family. Fresh ground coffee in the French press. We are very fortunate.
Also this afternoon, tearing down the ride on mower to find the source of an oil leak, I discovered under all the oil and dirt I had not understood the proper operation of the sump oil drain fitting. Easy fix! :D Best Les |
What's making me happy at the moment?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1702688019.jpg My approximately 11 year old 18 pound nearly toothless tomcat that is my companion. He gets a head start on sleeping on my bed every night in the exact spot where my feet wind up when I get in bed, at which point my feet get nice and toasty and he moves up to his side of the bed. In the middle of the night he will awake me with a soft paw to my lips sitting in front of me. The sleep study I waited 6 months for an appointment revealed I have severe sleep apnea and my O2 concentration levels remain in the 80-70 percent range with a nadir of 69 percent for 90 percent of the time I am supposed to be asleep. In 10 more days I go for another study at the sleep clinic. It will take them 2 weeks to resolve the data for the next step. The cat, he's known it's been a problem all along. But he keeps me going. 14 months into being diagnosed with extensive stage terminal cancer and being treated with chemo and immunotherapy, it's recently been deemed as no longer working. So I've started the 2nd line of chemo. I may be down to a few months if not weeks at this point. You'd never guess it if you saw me. Friends and neighbors are my only family. Other than of course the cat. My hope is that somebody is going to enjoy the companion I leave behind. He certainly has spared me the grief of leaving me first. A warm spot in the bed for my cold feet. Yes, sometimes you realize life really is about "enjoying every sandwich". |
My daughter getting acceptance letters in 5 colleges she applied for made my day today. Very proud of her. And the stock market gave a good bump to her college fund too :).

Working on this beast is really rewarding. Lots of new skills to learn, tools to buy. Done a hydrostatic test on a boiler recently? Installed flared copper pipe good for 200psi?

^^^^^ Reading your post kind of slammed me. I'm hoping for a miracle for you, & I'm not a religious person.
