We used to make dinner reservations for Donner.
"Donner- party of 5." |
I think Dixie nalled it on this post...
"I'm grateful to get asked out a fair amount, but it doesn't change that dating over sixty is like digging through a dumpster looking for the least smelly and broken thing you can find" This applys to both men and ladies ...just a observation of the obvious... Many broken people not nessarily of their own doing...doing the best they can and hoping for the best |

Sugarwood, show us on your doll where Dixie hurt you. |
Wait, there are still people here who pay attention to that sugarwood character?

Regarding the dumpster remark - yes I realize it's just a metaphor.....but this is why I mentioned grocery stores as a target rich environment.
I'd take that over going out to bars. That said - I've met, dated, and had relationships with plenty of chicks I met in a bar, and most were really good quality. But when you get up in years I think things are all different in terms of "sifting through the dumpster". |
When I went to podiatry school the Safeway down by the Marina was fantastic. Apparently, there was a dearth of fit, heterosexual men in San Francisco. Would go mountain bike riding in the Marin Headlands and stop off at the grocery store on the way back to get something to eat. You could not walk into the store and make it all the way to the produce section without being accosted. Must have been the cycling shorts or something.

Yeah, the gay guys were always very forward, but who is going mountain bike riding in the Castro? Not this guy. I was always cutting through the Presidio and going across the bridge to the Marin Headlands. There was a pretty sweet trail to the Marine Mammal Center, close to the coast. I wonder if that is still there. Nope, moved it to Sausalito, better tourist access I guess.
I had some big thighs back then, big as my waist. Made it tough to wear long pants. What would the equivalent of the Marina Safeway be for our OP? I guess perhaps such a thing does not exist, hardware store maybe. |

All of my friends are around 60.
I can't see any woman wanting to date a single one of them. All the good ones are taken on both sides! |

One we are very good friends, she's way too vanilla. Other just lives too far away to make it real. We see each other at parties which is nice and I'll go down to Newport now and again to see her. I will agree that as women, and men, get older they get boring and have no sense of adventure. But there are some gems out there. Edit: I'm 55, will be 56 in a month, identify as 20s, and pass for 45 all day long, so that helps a lot. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1697734050.jpg |
