That makes me a real old timer. I use Excel 98 and Word 98. Some years ago I downloaded a converter that allowed my Word 98 to read later Word docs.

My new computer has a newer version, 2019, but that's about to be 4-5 years old, which is still at least middle-aged in computer years.

The girl in the ad is cute as a button!

I'm paying $48.99 a year for Office 365 Personal... Seems reasonable to me.

We use almost exclusively Google Sheet, Docs, Drive, etc at work. If your spreadsheet issues are not too complex, it can work.

Fine.
You've accepted the "subscription model".
Welcome to your new world. Not mine.

Once upon a time you could buy the same product and "own" it.
For the same price. Or free.
Like typing is a new thing.

You didn't even have to pay the vendor for stealing your proprietary business information.

If you check out the slickdeals.net forum, MS Office software is frequently available via different deals. A recent deal through groupon offers MS Office 2021 lifetime licenses for $40. (There are some claims are that these are grey market license numbers, etc.)

Slave to MSFT here. Excel alternatives / non windows version (mac) suck, unfortunately.

The only legit version is Windows Excel.

I’ve been using Microsoft 365 for years, and it covers everything I need. For people asking how to separate date and time in Excel, it’s pretty simple. You can use the INT function to extract the date and the MOD function to get the time. Formatting the cells afterward makes everything look clean.
