Probably my VW Scirocco….that was a fun little car.

I will be buying this one in the spring back from my son who I sold it to a few years ago. This will be the 3rd time I've owned it. It was my track car when I lived in Seattle. Then sold to a guy in Philly. He sold it back to me when I moved to Spokane. 83 Euro SC with a Chris Powell built 3.2 motronic and 915 with a limited slip. I'm done with racing and DEs so I'm going to make the suspension more street friendly, put the interior back to stock, get the whale tail off of it, and hopefully add AC to it.

78 Westy I had in Anchorage in 88-90. No rust given salt free up there. Yellow orange with the green plain upholstery.

Not a car. Actually, I had one of these years ago, and was sorry I sold it so I got another. Great bike don’t ride it much but love to look at it.😀

It's a beaut!

Let's see:
69 911E? The one I had was running carbs installed by the PO as his mechanic couldn't get the fuel injection to work. If I did it again, I think proper fuel injection would be a must.
86 MR2? In truth, it was my wife's car. I was just too tight inside and a 3 hour drive was tiring. Just too busy.
90 Miata? I certainly enjoyed it. Better suited to my size and tastes than the Toyota, but I would probably go with a NC model.
87 924S: I suspect if I came across a clean example in medium blue with caramel interior, I would succumb. I loved putting miles on that car. It did everything I asked of it.

Best
Les

I’ve already bought two of my cars back. Didn’t like the new owners. Sold them again, years later.

Got a motorcycle I’ve now owned twice, too.

Series Land Rover (mine was a 109 2-dr, I’d probably rather a 109 5-door)
Range Rover 1st gen (mine was a LWB, I’d like one of those again)
1965 Mustang (mine was a notchback, I’d only get a fastback now)

Bought the Lighting for the wife 8 years ago, and I bought it back just about 2 years ago.

My first gen MR2 and my 80 series Land Cruiser. Those two are my trusty old friends. Next would be my 85 Toyota 4wd pick up truck. Simple, get in and always goes.

Love the MR2http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat3.gif

Everyone always falls back to the Miata as the best reliable sports car on a budget. Seems like a first generation MR2 should fall into that category, especially if you want a hardtop. Seems like the offspring of a Miata and a 914.

I have had both. I will take my MR2 8 days 'til Sunday. Its just feels much more solid and I think its a bit faster and better handling car. Oh, the typical toyota reliability ring true. Not one issue the entire time I owned it and this was when I was a punk kid in college and that right pedal is pretty worn (that poor car). I am talking about the the first gen similar years. Get out and drive the NA (first gen miata) and do the same in the MR2. Cruise at 80-85 and do it for 2-3 hours and tell me how you feel after that?

What Gen or year MR2 do you have? Pics?

Targa68 11-12-2023 02:07 PM

Had a bunch of Porsche 914 2.0. Bought a Fiat 1/9 didn't come close to the 914. Sold the Fiat 2 days later.

No. I never took pics. Even now, I have a couple of pics of my cars only when necessary.

88 (first gen), red with brown cloth interior with the factory wing. Black stick shift. Bought it with 50k on it from a hardware store owner's wife. She bought new BMW. This was 1991.

Shaun @ Tru6 11-12-2023 03:33 PM

Those are great cars. A friend had an 87 one that was a factory supercharged model.
