neighbor's Amazon package

The next door neighbor we dislike had their package dropped off at our house yesterday. I brought the three items in when I got home. One of my job is to open them and get rid of the box or bags. We don't buy too much but we have deliveries once a week or two. I was waiting for a set of reverse light for my truck. Of course I blindly cut open packages without ever looking at the addresses. I see this box and was wondering what it could be. Not my crap so it must be wife's so off I go to put in the new bulbs (you guys need to install these LED reverse lights. Dang, I can finally see).

I get a call mid day today. Oh, it is wife. How bad did I screwed up this time?

Wife: Did you order a dido

Me: What I use my hands, its free.

Wife: I couldn't tell from the exterior of the box, so I opened it (laughing). Glad the kids weren't around

Me: Lamo, use it since I am not around.

Hung up with my curiosity pegged. The new young lawyer, doc couple? The azzholds that don't put their trash cans away or the old gay dude few houses down? I hurried home because I know where the packing plastic has been thrown out. Of course I had to look. Yep, its under her name (Azzhold neighbor). I told my wife that I should bring it over to her during dinner time and apologize for accidentally opening up her package without seeing the address and hand over the "thing" with my hand gripping over the shaft along with the box on my left hand. Of course I wouldn't do that in front of their 'lil baby. I have more class then that.

I know what you dirty old bastards gonna say, lets have it. I need a good laugh today.

I replaced the conventional reverse bulbs with LED on my Silverado back in March.....and agree......they are indeed great!

Mr Look... If I was you I'd just give it to them (in the packaging/box etc) explaining that your wife opened it without checking the address.

I understand your neighbor is difficult but he's still your neighbor. Why not be the better person?

Also…. Be super red faced and embarrassed - no eye contact, run away like you’re scared for her eternal soul.

My stupid neighbor.

This is the current view from the front door of my house. My neighbor decided he wanted a caravan but he didn't have room to store it in his back yard. So he pours an additional concrete driveway in front of his house. Note the brush fence: This is right on the boundary of the two properties.

Am I happy about it? ... No, mainly because it blocks the view on the right side of my house. I tried to talk to him but he just wasn't interested. I then approached the local council and they told me they had approved the new driveway.

So anyway, going forward how should I treat this "neighbor"?

Ask a couple of times a week if you can borrow it. That should do the trick and he will do his damnedest to keep it out of your sight.

Interesting choice of words… ‘my curiosity was pegged’…

And yes, I’d drop it off at their door. They know where it was delivered by accident, Amazon includes a photo of it on the porch in the tracking.

Next time they misbehave, you could always ask how the (insert model name here) is working out… who knows, they might move away.

Or...if you don't want to deal with the neighbor, call Amazon and they'll take care of it.

They most likely will just send another one to her and pick-up the one delivered to you.

I have had wrong packages sent and if the value is low, they just say keep it or throw it away.

Perhaps smear a wee bit of skin lotion on it first?

I see what you did there.

Return it and say your wife thought it was a gift. 'Barely used'.

I was going to say something similar - give her one that's three times as big as the one she ordered, with no explanation or comment

That's the rub. You can't return something you didn't buy.

Be fun to know if they gave it the sniff test after you give it to them.
