Speed limiters in every new car.

I'll be keeping at least one "classic" car for as long as I can drive.

Read that article the other week. Not going to happen for the foreseeable future. They want to alert to when someone is going at a high rate of speed............Yeah. I think those who are going 'a few miles over' know that they are speeding.

Maybe NTSB is thinking of something like the no seatbelt ding.

Built in speeding report & fining? - Ask Corbin Dallas, The Fifth Element - 1997.

(Not PARF specific. This applies to both sides of politics)

It feels like there's a constant Gumbit creep on our rights. They just keep pushing. And IRL there are lots of male and female "Karen's" out there telling people how they should live. Just the other day an idiot I've know for some time started talking politics at a family gathering. That didn't go so well... lol

This is recent. Not that long ago you would've been labeled a conspiracy theorist for even suggesting this.

Peter, it is a PARF-worthy topic b/c there's only one particular side of the aisle that pushes into our lives like this, constantly, inexorably... like a ratchet that moves in one direction one click at at time and then holds there. The other guys may get in for a term or two but the ratchet doesn't get flipped to counterclockwise, it just pauses until the 1st guys get back in power.

Mr Ken I get what you're saying but more recently I've seen the other side doing the same thing (locally).

Honestly it feels like there's an "agreed to by both sides agenda" being implemented.

EDIT: To be clear. These are my own thoughts/experiences & I acknowledge that I may be wrong but it feels organized/controlled at a high level because both sides are now using the same terms when they engage with the public.

Many companies have cameras in their vehicles. New restrictions come with each iteration of the software. I expect speed control will be part of the equation soon enough. Some already have it. Ours are tied to gyros that trigger for hard braking and abrupt lane changes. Recently, following distance has been added.

Insurance companies are already giving breaks for those that use them voluntarily. Just a matter of time before they become mandatory.

I just switched back to State Farm and they have a device to put in your car. It's called "Drive Safe and Save". I'm reluctant to put it in the car.

My Gulf Region Toyota FJ Cruiser has a 120kph warning light/buzzer

Secret to it not being annoying is to just drive +120kph

Never considered it a thread worthy discussion subject until this thread came along

Great cartoon! Maybe we can cut and paste our comments from your thread to this one.
Because this one is so much more serious.

Sometimes people start a new thread without seeing the "other" recent one on the same subject.

Let's not make a big deal about something that (in the big scheme of things) doesn't really matter.
