RANT: do not buy from Walmart online

I received a $25 gift card from Target as a gift. I can never find anything I need a Target so at first I was ready to regift it to someone else. But I looked online and they had a sim cards for my camera so I ordered one. They provide a tracking number for UPS. After a few days of watching the tracking it falls silent, "no information available". I call Target customer service and they say no problem we'll send you another at no charge and if the first one shows up you can just keep it.

Well it's been 5 days now and neither have been delivered.

Somewhere there is a HUGE UPS warehouse with lost items just stacked to the ceiling.

Many people don't realize Walmart online is actually a marketplace like eBay and Amazon - where 3rd party sellers can list their items for sale.

...so you never know if they have it, how fast they will actually ship - nor have a way to contact the shipper easily.

I just did some test searches on Amazon. Doesn't seem to matter what I search for, it's the same result. In this case I searched "Men's Watches". First, with being logged out of my Prime account - hmmmmmmm, what's this? I can get these watches delivered by tomorrow morning at 7AM! Next, I logged into my Prime account and did the same search. Huh? Same watches (all Fulfilled by Amazon) won't get here until next week. What in the holy hell is Amazon doing?

So here's the Amazon scam for non Prime members. I clicked to buy one of the watches logged out of my account. It then shows the same 1 week shipping as Prime but gives you the option to join Prime for "fast, free shipping". The assumption by most being, oh, I'll join Prime and get the watch tomorrow. No bueno.

I ordered an airtag for a friend of mine who is quite forgetful, always misplacing her keys etc..

Placed the order on Amazon at around 2:30pm-- I had the airtag in hand by 7:00 same day...That waas some quick shipping.

Yep, A does a lot of bait and switch crap. I'm still happy with the speed that I get items, and I usually get items when they say that I'll get them or sometimes a day early. When we lived in town, stuff was delivered FAST (lots of fulfillment warehouses around Houston). Now that we're rural, it's usually 2-3 days, sometimes 4-5, but they pretty much always tell us before we order. I get it, if I'm ordering an item that's only in a warehouse in FL, AZ, whatever, it's going to take longer than if I'm ordering something that's in a warehouse <1hour's drive from me.

When we lived in central Houston, we got a lot of next day. They started doing same day about the time we moved to the boonies, so I never got that experience.

And deliveries from the store are made by people who are apparently hung over or all smoked up. Routinely get the wrong address no more Walmart for me.
