Just a regular, full size, 2WD Toyota PU and you hit 5.0 for 0-60? Wow, that's crazy and impressive. My son in law's got an older Tundra, and his would not pull that sort of number.

What app did you use?

LOL! My '08 Boxster S gets 21 - 22 mpg on the highway (cruise set at 83, and not afraid to accelerate to get past other vehicles or big clumps of vehicles). I think my car is rated by Porsche to get 23. I think I could get 23 (or maybe a bit more) if I was able to drive slow enough and sedately enough.

It's GPS Race Timer. I tried a few more times yesterday and could not match the 5.0 second time so maybe it was beginner's luck. Toyota's don't have limited slip and the 2WD's don't come with an electronic locker. They have Automatic Limited Slip which is a fancy way of saying they use brakes to hold the spinning wheel so torque transfers to the non-spinning wheel. You push the traction control button to activate it meaning your traction control is off. I've used this on all my runs. I left foot brake so I can get the revs up for the launch, just to about 2k RPM, nothing crazy. I must have done it pretty well the first try because the other runs I'm just lighting up the tires.

The TRD OffRoad has limited slip… but only in 4Lo.

I wonder how long before there is a tune to over ride some of these ‘features’…

A person close to me owns a 2023 Nissan Frontier.....which I use from time to time. At 4000 km it routinely gets 10l/100 highway and not more than 12l/100km in active city driving.

Sounds like this is not a winner.....

^^^ A Nissan Frontier is hardly a Toyota Tundra.

A Frontier is the mid size pickup truck from Nissan, the Tundra is a full size truck with up to 12,000 lbs towing capacity, a big cab and a full size box.

You are comparing horse buns with hot cross buns.

Not a Tundra but I found it entertaining. Too bad it's missing one with a machine gun mounted.

Can you put the power to the ground with the new Tundra?
My 2016 just spins the tires.

Looks like it depends.

It was 40 degrees this morning so I thought I’d give it another try. Auto LSD on but no left foot braking. Not even full throttle, which I think helps with torque. The time… 4.7 seconds!!!

I’m catching hell on the Tundras site. They’re saying no way it turned 4.7 seconds. I don’t believe it either but I’ve owned a Cayenne twin turbo plus other Porsches that can turn sub 5 second times and this Tundra feels on par with them.

^^^ don’t feel bad. Those bozos banned me for posting towing pics with my other truck.

Clearly the ‘abuse’ hasn’t hurt it any as it’s still running strong with over 466,000 kms on it. It is currently connected to my stock trailer.

Guys that actually use their trucks for work are not welcome by that site’s moderators, some of which are on the FB groups and made fun of me for putting a gooseneck hitch in my new 1/2 ton… despite its 11,000 lb towing capacity.

You are using an inherently inaccurate device…
GPS has a range of accuracy. It’s not deterministic.
And NFW is a Tundra doing 0-60 in 4.7.

Ya, something isn't right. No way my Tundra is going to give my 996TT a go.
My truck needs to get rolling and then you can feel the torque.

Your truck is a 2016… the new ones have a different engine, transmission, and are lighter.

Not the same… I have both generations of Tundras (for now) and there is not a thing the same between the trucks.

All that being said, I don’t think my Tundra hybrid is faster than my Cayenne Turbo S. one day, I will race my wife in her 958 Cayenne S.

I don't believe the 4.7 either but it's fun to see it. The truck is fast tho. It's noticeably faster than the 4WD Tundra I test drove.

Another GPS data point: I use Track Addict app at the track for lap times and for one session I also ran a borrowed GPS lap timer. The app lap times were with a few thousandths of a second to a few hundredths of a second compared to the $400 lap timer. I doubt the G force readings and actual GPS position of the app are any where close to as accurate as the real lap timer but at least the lap times are accurate.

I get about 26 -27 in the Lexus hybrid SUV, weighs as much as a school bus. I have yet to drive a hybrid with non-sucky brakes.
