I didn't see the thread but this morning I started a thought document on what is the future of humanity which was sparked by a Japanese youtube video on how Japan's traditional food culture is disappearing.
Apparently the world, not just the U.S. is spiraling down to a lowest common denominator cultural identity where excellence is eschewed for time, ease and convenience. So 2024 should be an interesting year to put together a proper thesis on the subject. Wall-E wasn't just a cool movie about a little robot, it was a prophecy.

I watched the first episode this evening,
and a little over half of the second. That was more than enough. No one really believes this stuff, do they? The guy takes 1% fact, wraps it in exaggeration, smears it with distortion and buries it under a load of plain old fabrications and falsehoods and acts like everyone else is wrong for not believing him. Complete and total nonsense. |
