I was thinking today, about how so many older musicians, who have stood the test of time (Keith Richards aside), will get brought down by this.

Placido Domingo is also in the hospital with CV. Apparently stable as of now.

Just give me one thing that I can hold on to
To believe in this living is just a hard way to go... Prine is one of the few song writers I genuinely admire, seems to be so my whole life.

Just saw him in LA a few months ago. Awesome show.
And FWIW, he prolly wouldn't care if you offered up a prayer for him too.

Dammit, have tickets to see him in August. He's a bucket list show. All positive thoughts John.

John is a tough bird, survived a couple bouts of serious crap including throat cancer. This sucks.

I heard and thoroughly enjoyed John's music starting back in the 70's, his lyrics and music are sooo good. He's truly an American treasure in my book.
He helped me through some rough times with his humor and WTH attitude. Thanks John, best to you always bud!! an old favorite and a newer one

I started reading this thread last night and I was up until midnight listening to John Prine. He can turn a phrase for sure.
Ironically, the song I like the most wasn't written by him. But he sang on it, and it sounds like something he would have written.

If you're a fan of JP and not seen this, you should remedy that real soon while waiting for him to recover (he said with fingers crossed...):
