Great Acura-Cadillac GTP battle right to the finish for sure. Close racing throughout, last lap had the top two cars in ALL four classes within 3 seconds of each other. Porsches were fast but ultimately didn't make it to the top of any podium. Consistent head of the class #77 Porsche in GTDPro got penalized for knocking out a Corvette right at the end.
Thanks for sharing the pics Curt! |
Wild crash for Derani's Cadillac! That's a really fast section of the track. I was standing there taking pics Friday. You would never think a car might go off there. Excellent first outing for the Lamborghini SC63 - finished in 7th overall with no real problems. Grosjean was able to legitimately hold off Bourdais in the Cadillac for many, many laps to prevent himself from going a lap down. They should be competitive all year.

I enjoyed the race . Porsche's were competitive but just not their day . The Acura/Cadillac battle was excellent . I can imagine the Lambo team was very happy with their outing . On to the next race 😃

It's a pretty car with or without a wing IMO, but I wish they'd revert to the original battleship grey paint, that was sexy..

^^^ Would be cool if real but the bottom of the article states its an April fools joke .

Hmmm, Lamborghini SC63 not on GTP entry list for Long Beach next week??!!

The Lamborghini SC63 is only planning on entering 2024 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup races starting with Sebring.
|
Really? Must be a budget thing but they are missing out on some great real-world testing opportunities that would apply to both the IMSA and WEC programs and Le Mans! And you'd think they'd want the exposure in the SoCal market regardless.

Way too many commercials !!!!!
|
Impossible to watch with that many commercials. + my feed on Peacock kept buffering and crashing. It never does that on other coverage. That said, Cadillac kicked butt.
|
The race was also streamed on YouTube. No issues at all.
Race was ok. Too much stupidity at the hairpin. Also possible that Nasr was brake checking a BMW, causing impact in at least one case. If true, thats really stupid on Nasrs part. Don’t be a punk. |
15 minutes into the 6 Hours of Imola, the WEC race is already better than the IMSA sprint race at Long Beach. And no excessive commercials so far. I am always amazed how Ferrari somehow figure out a way to perform when they race in Italy. They qualified 1-2-3 and are running in that order now   (with Porsche close behind).
