The Cadillac fastest in FP3.
^^^ Sweet. Love the big normally-aspirated V8. Perfect for an American-built hypercar. Nothing else sounds like it.

According to TV Racer three hours of the WEC race will be covered on MotorTrend . I think the entire race is on Max formerly HBO . I get MT so will record and watch later .
Roger Penske is happy today, Peugeot folks, not so much.
And the Cadillac curse continues. |
Despite a featureless, video game-like track with no atmosphere whatsoever and no spectators to speak of .... that was an outstanding race from start to finish! Porsche 963 1-2-3 in Hypercar and Porsche 911 1st in GT  Peugeot were strong - until losing power on the last lap of a 10-hour race

A great way to start the WEC season for the P cars . Well done .
The impressive thing about Porsche's LMGT3 win is there were only 2 911s in the field. In fact, each manufacturer is limited to 2 cars in GT. Not like the old days where half the field was Porsches. So Aston Martin's 2-3 was impressive as well.

I just figured out where to watch... had no idea it was there. Just in case, Max (HBO + cinemax) has an offer like $2.99 a mo for 6 months going (got that via email). Under "sports" there you can see the entire WEC races. Lots else to see on Max too, like true detective amongst many others. Probbaly a sweet deal given the price of other subs. Nice to see the ferrari and peugeots for a change... Last time I saw that was at Lemans where I got Covid from the sea of people.
^^^ That's cheaper than Motortrend+ which I think is $5.99 and there is absolutely NOTHING else on the channel worth watching.
If you have YouTubeTV, it carries the MT channel.

Sports car season has started very well on both continents. IMSA is back in action soon at Sebring, March 16th.
you know i have become car brand agnostic in my racing these days.
but i really hate that GM hates doing customer cars. like, IMSA had to force GM to do "customer cars" when GTLM finished up, and converted to proper GT3. they still drag their feet whenever anyone asks for one, so they really arnt doing customer cars. meanwhile they just said they wont do customer prototypes either ... so dumb. i thank porsche for always supporting the privateers. in both GT and prototype racing, porsche stands alone i think in having such a long and good history of supporting customer cars. almost no one else does. yeah, here and there, lambo GT3s were hot for few years, audi, etc ... but porsche stands alone in think in always having a customer package, for any rules that allow privateers, for every rule set, for every class, supporting it, making it it available, parts, drivers, etc. one of the reasons i do appreciate porsche as a brand. |
^^^ quite true!
I'm looking forward to the IMSA debut of the Lamborghini GTP car at Sebring! Not expecting much competitiveness, but it will be great to have yet another manufacturer out there. Twin-turbo V8. I think Romain Grosjean will be one of the 3 drivers for Sebring. The design looks a bit generic in photographs - I'll have to see how it looks (and sounds) in person among the rest of the cars. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1709598892.jpg |
Lamborghini has their hands full to debut a new car at Sebring . That is a rough track but will be a real test of the machine . I wish them well . Having said that I hope the swarm of Porsche 963's continue to win 👍

What a great racing weekend with Indycar, IMSA (next weekend, thanks Curt), and F1.
Sebring is next week actually. Starts Weds. HSR Spring Fling starts tomorrow.
This should be interesting and will run at various IMSA and Indycar races.
