It's a baby step forward and may mean absolutely nothing but Carlos Sainz was the quickest in the test morning session in Abu Dhabi .

https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/sainz-fastest-williams-in-morning-abu-dhabi-f1-test/10681224/

Sainz must have a giant chip on his shoulder.

stealthn 12-10-2024 05:40 AM

That Ferrari comment should be at the top of the F1 2025 thread so we can see if your prediction is right/wrong. I think Hamilton on that team (now) will dominate, but I am also sad for Sainz as he great driver that won’t do much at Williams.

Turbo_pro 12-10-2024 05:53 AM

I already have a last longer/higher points total for Charles Leclerc over Bone Baby Hamilton for 2025.
The Bone will have moments of brilliance (for an old fart) but Leclerc is Ferrari's future.
IMHO

Someone needs to post a poll on who we pick to be WDC in'25.

Ferrari to supply engines/transmissions to Cadillac for their first 2 years in F1 .

All except Hamilton,

But now like in his rookie year,
he has lost the intimidation factor and others are
calling his bluff.

He's still very fast but has lost some respect from others.
this could get ugly.

As far as I am concerned you have just agreed he is a bully with other drivers deciding not to engage. As for HAM he took him on at Imola which came to grief.

Seems he has learned at his dad's feet. Jos was just as difficult, just not as fast.

I will give him his due on skill, will not cut him a break on being a dick.

Great news, a GM vs Haas battle of all American F1 teams based in Maranello and Silverstone :D

Look forward to watching how that pans out

My money is on Haas

I am very interested in how Haas does next year . Do they have the aero expertise to make the chassis faster ? And yeah also looking forward to Haas vs Cadillac .

Carlos Sainz admits he knows he won't be fighting for podiums or wins for a year or two . He's looking at the challenge of building a winning team . I hope he can over achieve and be competitive sooner than that .

Have a lot of friends there, ex-Ferrari, really good guys

Since Gunther has gone it's a much more pleasant place to work and people aren't so afraid of going for the brave more risky solutions

Wouldn't discount GM as they have Pat Symonds and Nick Chester leading the technical team, both know how to win championships

Don’t forget the new Toyota partnership with Haas. Komatsu did a stellar job in year one as team principal. It seems Haas has forward momentum. New full time drivers, though with Bearman and Ocon.

Motorsport is expensive but F1 is the most expensive by huge amounts

I loved this quote from Williams;

Team boss James Vowles is worried Williams’ numerous crashes, especially late in the season, could tip them over the budget cap.
If a wheel hits the wall, you can almost certainly expect a million in damage. Because then the wing is also broken, the suspension, the wheel rim, the floor, the sidepod,” Vowles told*Auto Motor und Sport.

Williams €13,839,600
Red Bull €6,148,400 (check the story to see where most of this came from!)
Ferrari €4,892,600
Aston Martin €4,375,000
Mercedes €4,337,600
Racing Bulls €3,686,200
Sauber €2,924,400
Haas €2,666,200
Alpine €2,371,000
McLaren €2,347,200

URY914 12-11-2024 11:59 AM

I'm always surprised to see how a wing gets damaged yet they can still remove and mount a new one in seconds. It seems the mounting points are very stout and well designed.

Reg 12-11-2024 05:17 PM

I think they’d have to be with the force put onto them. It be neat to see them up close.

Yes, we agree he is a dick and a bully on track.
I just pointed out that he usually gets his way in turn one
because he is a bully and others usually back down from the bully.
I did not mean to suggest that was OK in any fashion.

Nielske 12-12-2024 02:40 AM

Max is a dick and a bully but not many drivers win championchips without being a bully. Senna was a bully, schumacher was a bully, prost was a bully, hamilton is a bully, rosberg in his championchip year was a bully to hamilton.

Kimi and button were nice guys.

Norris is a nice guy, but did he win the championchip with the best car of the field?

Captain Ahab Jr 12-12-2024 02:53 AM

Thought you guys would like to see how many employees a top F1 team has, this is Redbull

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1734004146.jpg

Not shown are the countless external companies that will support the team ie designing, manufacturing parts, providing services etc which I'm sure will be around about the same amount of people again
