Is SkySports letting the high school interns announce the race today?

EDIT: Sorry, I was watching "F! Kids". LOL!

Noah930 12-08-2024 04:56 AM

Wow, Leclerc's first lap. That was a highlight reel.

rfuerst911sc 12-08-2024 06:15 AM

A lot of passing on the opening lap ! Ferrari did their best to close the gap but it wasn't enough . Congratulations to Lando and McLaren. Alpine rises from the ashes well done . Haas improved from last year hope that continues next year . Williams must be happy the season has ended as they burned through $$$ at an alarming rate .

Good finish for Mercedes . Lewis drove a great race . Max an amazing start but was too aggressive thinking he could snag second place . Perez continues the career death spiral . I read the contract extension he signed is with the parent company and not the F1 team . If that is remotely accurate he will have an ambassador role next year .

Will be interesting to see who can improve for 2025 and which driver swaps are the most successful . I really hope Haas and Williams can improve as the mid field competition this year was fun to watch . When do we start the 2025 thread ? :D

another rookie move from VER

What a race, other than Max Bandicoot, and what a season! So many moves going into next year. Congrats to McLaren and good sporting from Ferrari!

So will Perez be replaced by Lawson? (Bet you Yuki’s pissed) Will LH be number 1 at Ferrari? Next year is going to be good!

GH85Carrera 12-08-2024 08:17 AM

Now we have to wait 98 days until the next F1 race. :(

Congrats to McLaren and the constructors championship.

rfuerst911sc 12-08-2024 09:20 AM

I predict 2025 is the last year for Lance Stroll . To be replaced in 2026 by Yuki .

Looks like Danica is training hard for the seat.

Danica was looking good at Vegas. Didn't hear her report so I have no idea whether she made sense

Fantastic day for McLaren, been a long 26yr wait for the team, a well deserved championship!

Last year of the current rules is certainly looking very spicy for both drivers and constructors

I hope Brazil serves to highlight what is so wrong about the current points system. They really need to pay out points all the way down to last place, or at least last car that finishes. They need greater fidelity in the bottom half of the field. One good day, one that occurred under some very unusual conditions, should not move a team like Alpine up the standings as it did. Consistent hard work and results over the course of the entire season should be rewarded, not one lucky day.

Reg 12-09-2024 08:31 AM

Yes - that’s a sensible idea. 6 times 11-12th deserves more than a fluke podium. Not saying Alpine didn’t earn it but they had good fortune as well.

Deschodt 12-09-2024 08:47 AM

TBH I was really hoping Ferrari would pull off a miracle, I really like Fred and the drivers.
I do like McLaren overall also, but Zack B justs rubs me the wrong way, windows salesman like...
All in all RB is probably relishing this situation, they get most of the publicity of Verstappen's title, everyone knows it's Perez's fault, and they get way more Aero time than McL and Ferrari for 25 !

Really pleased for Alpine, my underdogs, to come back and get 6th from that complete team summer implosion was remarkable... Re: the "one lucky day" I do not disagree but the car was good after also, look at Gasly's qualifying on the last few races. IMO well deserved, but yeah points till 15 or so would be good.

3 months until Ferrari realizes they made a monumental mistake.

In his defense,
for years he has done that and other drivers
chickened out to avoid the crash
which means he got away with it.
All except Hamilton,
he's hold ground and they would crash.

But now like in his rookie year,
he has lost the intimidation factor and others are
calling his bluff.

He's still very fast but has lost some respect from others.
this could get ugly.

If so, it’s not like he will wanna stay at Williams - return of the prodigal son etc…

I look forward to you all and many others being wrong.

GH85Carrera 12-10-2024 05:06 AM

I have always understood that Hamilton iis a talented and skilled driver. He very rarely stuffs his car into the wall on practice or qualifying. His major advantage was having a car that was clearly better than the rest of the field for over 7 years. Only Rosberg managed to best him in an equal car, until George showed up, and he did not dominate.

We will find out how good he really is in the Ferrari, as the "junior" driver.
