I read the boyfriend had two black (MBZ?) SUVs. Did both get inspected?

I've followed this case since I read the Times. I read where her lawyer was planning to try and shift the blame.

So, the cliffs notes are, these two were having drinks and whatever and decided to leave in tandem. He's driving in the lead and she's following. So he's doing whatever speed she has been shown to have been doing by the log in her car.

He goes through the intersection first.

Pause here for a moment.

Next, he's been said to have stopped maybe nearer the scene of the children getting hit, climbing out of his undamaged vehicle and hiding in the bushes observing. I know nothing more than that and you're reading my version of a newspaper report.

Back to her. She's shown to have been doing around 60MPH at the point of impact after possibly doing as much as 80 a couple blocks back. So 2 SUV type vehicles go blazing through the streets and through this intersection how many seconds apart? Well, a short enough time that the dude saw what happened.

The mother is at the crosswalk with 3 kids. Dude goes flying by and she steps into the crosswalk. At that point the Grossman vehicle is iminent. The mother has the hand of one child and leaps out of the way but the other 2 are left and hit.

There is no doubt in my mind that punishment isn't in order. I would like to know more about the other driver, the one that whizzed right by the mother and pulled over. Sounds to me that he got lucky. It also sounds like he contributed to this as well. Did he get a speeding ticket?

I didn't hear one way or the other.

He got convicted of reckless driving or something and paid a fine.

Well, that's not enough for him, IMHO. I consider him to be in instagator. Doesn't take anything away from her culpability, just add to his.

We'll see how this goes.

My prayers were answered and she was found guilty of all charges, including 2 counts of 2nd degree murder. She was taken into custody and will be awaiting sentencing.

So justice is still alive. Thank you for the update.

I know what punishment I would give her . Glad she was found guilty . Hopefully the sentence is 50+ years without parole . RIP to the two innocent souls lost and may their family find peace after this tragedy .

Justice will truly prevail when she gets into GenPop, where those who bring harm to children are somewhat frowned upon......

What do you know about women's jail? She's not likely to go to a country club but for the sake of peace in lockup I think they will place her accordingly.

Side note: she was separated from her husband at the time. I see two things happening there; A) he stays married for quite a while and doesn't pay any alimony, or b) her behavior relieves him from expensive alimony. She is obviously wealthy being married to a wealthy doctor/businessman in a community property state.

More: if she has any formal duties at the burn center, she is automatically fired cutting off income from that source. I read somethings about civil cases vs liability cases. It seems like a sure thing that the Iskar family will file a WD suit. It will be interesting to see how her assets are attacked.

Due to the notoriety of the case the judge can't go light on her si I bet she gets the majority of the 40 years. Probably out in 18 or so. She'll be a old prune by then. I bet they don't have a Botox clinic in the prison.

I hope that she kills herself in prison. I hope that she just can't hack going from a 100% entitled life to being a number in lock up. Her lack of remorse for killing someone's kids is appalling. She is scum and the world would be just a little bit better without her in it.

11 out of 100,000 women do suicide while imprisoned; it's 28 per in local jails.

I've been thinking about this. In a year or 2 hardly anyone will remember this. Those that are close,, and some such as MADD members, and many others will use this as an example. But how many people will that actually leave an impression on? (I'm speaking of 'impresion' clinically.) Not the majority in the least.

Squirreling Mrs. Grossman away to be forgotten and any money received by the family is not going to leave much of a dent. The guy that shot the 6 YO on the 605 freeway, and just got sent away for 40 years is not on enough people's minds. And that was deliberate no matter how anyone feels about Grossman.

In medieval times they put people in stockades for minor crimes. I just did a survey of how many countries approach murder sentences and it seems the U.S. is amongst the toughest with some countries handing out only 3 to 5 years for a crime similar to this one. Well, that's not going to work.

The question is why do we have as many prisoner rights as we do? And what would benefit society better than tossing the key and letting this be forgotten? In many Muslim countries hand or finger amputation is a punishment for stealing. Punishment for adultery can be rather extreme, even in the US. (life sentence in MI). Mainming is a life sentence.

My personal feelings are that Mrs. Grossman's case not be forgotten. How do we do this? And please don't take this to PARF, there need not be any political discussion. Simply providing a press release periodically so that MSM has something to chew on would be better than this situation dropping off the radar.

Charlie Mason did a pretty good job of this on his own. I think that helped the heinous nature of his crimes stay in people's minds. It really bothers me that Lindsey Lohan's time in jail was chronicled just about 24/7 as that was a waste of time and stunk like TMZ. Yet, OTOH, we got to see that you fcuk up over and over, you go to the slammer.

If Rebecca Grossman has a tough day and sobs herself into dehydration, let's hear about it. Her misery needs to be documented, not ignored. Getting sent away and forgotten is not enough.

What do you suggest? Putting her back into society in a way that she is always identified with her crime and anyone can see this is a life sentence. Never to drive again, of course. The impact would be infinitely better. What could be done to ensure this?

What does 15 to life actually mean? How long till she's out on probation? 15 seems rather light for a double murder.

I'm kind of curious what kind of prison she'll be in - min or max security, furloughs, privileges, etc. Good to see she'll do some hard time, though not enough.

If I were involved in this, even peripherally, I would make her the most complicated case her husband ever dealt with.
