But will they make it better.

Would you rather be 13 in 1960, 1980, 2000, or in the last 10 years? I don't think I'd want to be anywhere between 13 and 25 right now. Growing up in this age seems like it would suck.

Something that I always think about.

If you were to wish yourself into some past age, medieval times, feudal Japan, the old west, whatever, your greatest chance if you don't get to choose is that you're going to be average. And back then average meant poor.

Going back to being school aged, assuming you can't wish you were young and hot and popular, that probably means that you were not likely to be hot or popular. If today is any indication of how the future will be, then that means that other kids can and probably will be dicks to you 24x7 which probably wouldn't be a good time.

ooof no.

maybe my body when i was 28, but certainly not who i was at 28.

getting older is a gift. i enjoy life more, i worry less, i get weirder, i care about meaningless things less, i care about important things more, i see more of the world, i make more and different friends ... the only thing i envy about youth is not being sore/hurting on a weekly basis. otherwise, youth is no goal nor envyable.

edit, i saw a stand up comedian do a bit about how somehow 35 is younger than 29. because when you were 29 you were worried about dumb things like "getting your life together" meanwhile, at 35, you are like, i dont give a ****, yeah ill take MDMA on a school night, lets ****ing go. yeah that patent application filed today, who wants to host a sex party next week?

and man an't that the truth though.

Every decade of my life has been an adventure. Some pretty crazy things have entered my sphere of influence, but those are the stories we tell.
Great jobs, great family, great loves. No regrets
I guess if there was a better time to live, I can't imagine it.
I need more time but we really have zero control over that....even if?
It was a great journey and where I ended up is pretty cool.

As long as I am raised by my parents, again; Pick a place, pick a time and I am good to go. I'll have every advantage I need.

I think, being born in 1956, November, that I have seen societal growth, tech growth, straddled the analog and digital divide in a way that makes me happy and content to have lived it.

I did enjoy being a teenager in the 1980's so I'm hesitant to change my era based on that, but there are a number of things that I'd have done differently if I'd had my current knowledge back then. My marriage would likely be one thing included in that list, sadly.

Having "said" that, my father's lifespan appeals... he was born in 1937, got to be a teen in the 1950s and died just before the Covid insanity took hold of the world.

Being alive to watch the downfall of the western world in real time is getting tiring....

I’m very happy being a child from the 60’s. Grew up spending a ton of time outside and reading to gain knowledge. It’s amazing now that I can access anything I want to learn within moments on a telephone.

If I could choose any other time I’d really like to go a few hundred years in the future for a few days.. I’d like to see how we have advanced technology and hopefully deep space travel.

Reality is, humans are pretty good at screwing things up but are amazing at finding ways to improve. I, like many am concerned about the loss of common sense and morals in society but I am also confidant we will correct and adapt to the changes just as we have since the dawn of man.

Youth is wasted on the young.
