Taycan Butchered for Headlights, but the comments were worse

And here come the punny comments...

• Just the headlights were taycan this time

• Cayenne one tell how much replacements are?

• I couldn't Carrera less

• Dunno but I’d call 911 Turbo

• This maybe in Cayman islands

• Did anyone Spyder thief?

• Boxster up and sold them already

• Better Porsche them asap.

WOW... It would have been easier (& quieter) to steal the car using a flatbed.

I don't understand why they didn't open the hood and pop them out with the allen wrench that should be right next to the lights. It's a 30 second job to remove the headlights.

Photoshop?

The jagged edges of the upturned flaps do not match the cut-lines on the fenders?

And the one in the right rear almost appears to be giving the finger.

Sort of gallows humor, but might as well laugh at it...a spilt milk thing.

If I had a car in that color, I probably wouldn't even notice the damage

That’s what I was thinking…but the alarm would have gone off. Looks like a P-38 can opener got the job done however.

I wonder how much the repairs will cost. I bet they cut the wires so they could hook it up easier

Ouch, $9000 before you buy fenders or pay for paint, fenders are under $700 each.

Quote:
LED units of the Porsche Taycan are quite pricey. In the US, each headlight costs a whopping $4,390, which translates to $8,780 for a new pair.

On a Reddit forum, a number of commenters thought the theft was to obtain the super-efficient controllers/electronics, as they have reputation for using much less power. I understand certain, um, 'unregulated' indoor growing 'gardeners' prefer such a setup over conventional, power-hungry grow lamps...so yeah, some weed guys probably did it...

Cordless angle grinder using a cutoff wheel. The lines are clean. Four cuts.
Then pried open with crowbar.
They were pro dismantlers, ie chop shop, and knew exactly where the parts were to take.
Probably one guy. Less than 5 min.

The only upside is that the entire car wasn't taken, or that there weren't more guys working on the rear and interior.

Per this video, the headlights might be stolen to use in grow houses because they run cooler than normal grow lights.
