Resident Alien

Anyone watching?

I love Alan Tudyk. I loved him since Firefly.

I wanted to like it and thought after the pilot that it wasn't great. Got about half way through episode 2 and gave up. Not going to waste any more time on it.

You should have stuck with it... it's really picking up speed and the writing's really good. All the characters are getting more interesting, too. Loads of humor.

I was like you in the beginning. I think it's always good/smart to give a new show 5 episodes.

Yep, I have been watching. It is rare to honestly laugh out loud at an extraterrestrial whose mission is to destroy all humans. I enjoy the show and it is nice to see a show with some good writing. I am so sick of the current themes of most science fiction of doom and gloom and apocalypse. It makes me want to go rewatch the show Eureka.

We watched the first episode and the associated trailers, great stuff.

As with all shows based on discovering what it means to be human, Mork & Mindy, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and so forth there is a freshness of shelf time for the concept to run it's course before it gets old and predictable.

Of course I would have thought MASH, X-Files, Star Trek Next Generation, Supernatural and other long run shows would dry up long before they did.

Perhaps it was the lack of serious competition at the time, an era based on broadcast TV over the airwaves and not the streaming environment that exists today.

We shall see.

Right now, this show is a blast.

I've been using our new elliptical machine quite a bit since the gyms have been closed and the weather is not great for bicycling.

I've pretty much exhausted Comedians in Cars getting Coffee and Jay Leno's garage so I watched the Pilot episode a couple days ago... I will watch at least a couple more episodes before I make a judgement.
I enjoyed the humor and SyFi slant to it, made the time on the machine go by more quickly!

Different and we really need something that is off the wall a bit these days. We actually laughed out loud a few times. We enjoy it and will continue to watch.

I hadn't heard of it. I was intrigued. We just watched the first two episodes. It's entertaining with some funny moments.
