Sail with the crew of "Old Ironsides"
I figured some of the naval enthusiasts and history buffs here would be interested.
Want to “serve” on the world’s oldest commissioned warship still afloat? Now is your chance. https://www.stripes.com/branches/navy/2024-04-02/uss-constitution-july-4-lottery-13473450.html?utm_campaign=dfn-ebb&utm_medium=email&utm_source=sailthru

Thanks for posting, just entered. I've seen the ship but would be amazing to sail on it.

Did you know the US Navy has a private forest to provide wood to repair the USS Constitution?

That would be cool. I know for sure my wife would not want to go. She gets sea sick on a glass bottom boat in a bay in calm waters. I bet many 10s of thousands of people will sign up for that lottery.

Not weird at all. One of the best parts of living in Boston, at least for me, is being able visit and see many of things and places that are part of the very foundation of our great country. If the Constitution gets you emotional, visit the Minute Man National Park sometime. Highest pollen count in the country, every day of the year, from spring to the dead of winter. You can feel what happened there, it's incredible.

I took a tour of the ship years ago. Very interesting. The thing I still remember is how low the ceilings are below decks. I’m only 5‘8“ and I had to keep remembering to duck so I didn’t bash my head on an overhead beam.
