$185 to have a barnacle removed from my car??

Wheel boots aren't working anymore...too easy to remove.
The barnacle has 1000 lbs. of pressure to keep it on...until you pay your ticket.
(first I've ever heard of this)

If you can start the car and put it in gear, this is a bad idea. People are stupid, we can all agree on that. Someone will try to drive off with the thing. Next thing you know there will be injuries.

Then lawsuits.

The fact that NY is considering this device is proof in itself how stupid people are.

Might drive up the sales of 'sunroof' cars.

Lemme know how you reach the gas and brake while your head is above the roof. Perhaps you meant periscopes.

^^^ I knew a guy in HS that had a VW Rabbit with a manual tranny and a sunroof.
He would do exactly what you mentioned....head out the sunroof while driving.
It can be done....if you are brave/dumb enough.

^^^ It was easy to spot him...the only car with a head on the top.
I think he slid the seat full forward but it still had to be fun trying to shift.

I don't think it would be that easy....1000 lbs. of pressure until the right code is entered.

Yep, high powered suction on a windshield with a small crack or rock chip sounds like a recipe for a busted windshield.

I don't know.

I'm sure Safelite and all the other glass companies have sent word down from corporate that their installers are to be completely hands off if they encounter this thing.
