Congratulations to the cats they earned it . Edmonton never gave up and can be proud of their effort . I have to imagine both teams are mentally wiped out . It was a very enjoyable series to watch . The Stanley cup is special.

That was a very good game to cap off a most entertaining & interesting Stanley Cup play-off season. The Cats deserve it. This has been an enjoyable thread & I hope it continues next year. It's been a pleasure, take care & stay well Gentlemen - 'see-ya' next year.

Bob had the Conn Smythe STOLEN from him. McDavid did virtually squat in all 7 final games but gets the trophy. :( McD in the new golden boy (taking over from wheree Cindy Crosby was).

Game 7 was an excellent game. Both teams showed up. The biggest mistake the Oilers made was they burned their top line guys too soon and they had no gas in the tank for the empty net ending.

It's not a final round trophy. It's an award based on play in all rounds.

If awarding it to the player who broke Gretzky's playoff assist record (and probably the greatest player ever), then I guess they got it completely wrong.

Granted it is for all rounds but, 2nd place is first loser and there is no comfort in making it to the finals and then losing.
McDavid came up short when he was needed most.

If you look at the underlying stats from all seven games, the Oilers outplayed Florida in five of the seven games.

Florida only carried the play in games 3 and 5.
