Yeah, I know I am being a little too optimistic about the Bruins but hey, what's not to love about Brad Marchand and the gang?

Other thoughts:
-Will Rempke get ejected from more than one game?
-How about the "Salt Lake City Coyotes"?

Really? No one wants to put their opinion in? I know there are disappointed Pens fans out there but surely you love the game even if Sid isn't playing.

How about first round predictions?

I believe Salt Lake is technically a new team, the Coyotes are simply inactive, and will potentially be an expansion team when they have a real venue greater than 5,000 seats.

So the Coyote name will probably not carry forward. There was some speculation that in year 1 they may simple be Salt Lake HC, since there is no logo, no uniform, etc.

Much as I hate to say it, the Dallas 'Rats' could win their 2nd cup although --- Hull won't be there to have his skate in the crease to help!

There's a lot of hockey between now and the cup any thoughts on teams east and west in the first round?

I knew I could count on flatty to come through.

Of all my picks, I am almost totally sure that the Caps will get crushed early and often (both on the boards and on the score).

The Canes and Isles have put on a good show so far.

Seeing Pittsburgh is out, I do miss the crying Crosby pic that’s posted here every year
My only prediction is that Boston will beat the Leafs

I predict no upsets in the first round, other than Colorado and maybe the Lightning.

Maybe a tad early, but the Leafs had better start to work on their 'back-up' plan if they have any hope of success against Da Broons!

Who will they play?

Tough call this year. The Toronto Bay Leaves will not be hoisting the Cup. IMO the Rangers or the Panthers in the East, in the West I have no idea. Would be nice to see a Canadian team bring the cup back home.

hockey is dead in the lower 24 or 30 of 48... the yotes are leaving the desert, the sharks suck in a great market, the LA teams are meh.... Hockey had a chance at one or two points over the last 20 years, but it's now back to a niche thing. you do realize the NFL draft is this Thursday and it will crush the hockey ratings 10 fold.

I agree, other than the Leafs will take out the Bruins in 6, because I have to beleaf. :D

As a long time suffering Leafs fan, here is how I give my allegiance during the playoffs.
First Leafs until they are out (which is all to often the first round). Then the Kings as I have been living in LA for the last 40 years. After they are gone any remaining Canadian team. Then after they are eliminated any original six. After they are all gone I don't care and stop watching. I think I might have a chance to see the finals this year, but alas not with my beloved Leafs
