I'd live here in a nano second... turn the runway and taxiways into a mini Sebring....

And the house has a little bit of that homey feeling already..

A Connecticut home with a private FAA-approved airstrip and hangar has hit the market for $2.9 million. Take a look

I might live in that, but I would prefer an old wood frame home with a large separate garage building. The 50 acres is great.

Co worker in LA lived in a slightly larger version of this. Every guy I knew envied him.

Hard pass on the OP barndominium (or at least that's what they are called here). However, that is located in/near the Finger Lakes region of NY. Very nice area so yes to that.

FYI: that is not Upstate. Not everything north or west of NYC is "upstate". This particular area is the Finger Lakes area. Rochester/Buffalo is in Western NY. Syracuse and parts north are "Northern NY".

I had three great years living in Watertown NY, about 70 miles north of Syracuse just off the banks of Lake Ontario. Only 20 miles down I81 from the Canadian border. Absolutely loved it!

Here is my 1890's house in Watertown. A large part of the town is built like this:

Referencing the OP's post on the barndominium in Upstate NY, that is cool!

My wife unfortunately would not go for that. Us guys fantasize about something like that when we are younger by the time we have some money to buy it, we're married and it's a hard sell to the wife (or should I say impossible).

Having lived close to Upstate NY for several years, I couldn't do it again. The winters are too long, too grey and too bitterly cold. As someone mentioned...Location...Location....Location! Same with that $1.5M listing in Ontario, which is also desolate.

50-Acres is a huge property to maintain as well, I could do 2-Acres and be fine with that.
