I have such a complete love for vintage Alfa’s.
This is cool. Not really my thing. If I had stupid money. I would have one or two. They are just spectacular. |

Imagine a vintage Giulia with a Tesla dual motor! Yes, I know. Sacrilege!

I would love to see the red one in the video when it is completed. When people restomod cars, they always seem to goof up the headlights, but I think the headlights on this one are absolutely beautiful with very nice detail.

If you like these cars, you may also like the GTA cars from Alfaholics in the U.K. Have a look at the completed cars on the website. Be sure and check out the Chris Harris driving video too.

I think one of the reasons cars like these (Singer, etc) have such enormous interest is because they offer a car that people strongly desire but the manufacturers are unable to produce any longer due to contemporary legislation for crash worthiness, safety nannies. noise limits, pedestrian safety and a host of others restraints.
If I had the $$$, so many modern cars just don't do it for me.

Pure art, I think we will be seeing more of these kinds of builds. Singer was proof of concept and demand, now just pick a marque and go.

I've always loved this body style and the car featured in the video is damned cool.
That said, I'm not sure I'd call an almost entirely new car a restomod. _

I'm glad that our Western world still allows such cars to be built. KNS said it well. Hey, we common folks can always buy lottery tickets and dream...

I bought one of those things years ago... Fell for the looks, reputation, clarkson's famous " you need to have owned an alfa", what was I missing ? !
It sure was pretty. Inside and out and in the engine bay. Driving it had a sense of occasion, like a baby Ferrari, loved the view from the driver seat - especially those very italian gauges. So classy, so sexy. But.... I found the mystique of the alfa Nord engine to be somewhat overblown. It's a 4. It sounds "Okay" but it's not the trumpets of the gods either. Mostly, I found the seating position to be absolutely unbearable after 10 minutes despite tons of mods on pedals and seats on my part. Guess I don't enjoy driving with my knees as earrings. In the end, space being an issue I kept the "so ugly it's cute" mega comfortable BMW 2002 instead, and sold the alfa... I still think they are gorgeous (and the stepnose even more so) but I never missed driving it... Go figure. (An alfaholics mod is another story for sure. the only car I ever owned that I miss driving is.. a 356) Last edited by Deschodt; 05-20-2024 at 10:20 AM.. |

Only a true Alfa owner would know the seat and pedals, especially gas, are a challenge. You have to appreciate the Nord 4 for what it is I think in stock form. I'm building a 200 hp EFI hotrod from a 1970 GT Junior. Stealing shamelessly from Alfaholics. You bet the seating, pedals and steering wheel placement will get a lot of attention. Hopefully, it can be improved......

Always liked those old Alfas, but that car is as far away from a "restomod" as you can get. Only thing left original is basically the sheetmetal.
