Additives?
I generally avoid 'em...glad I do. About 30 minutes...Lake speed on various additives. Under 3o minutes. Generally speaking, injection cleaners in fuel might help. Oil additives? Run like the Devil himself was chasing you.

Carroll Shelby pitching Slick 50 comes to mind . Instead of spending $$$ on oil additives spend that money on oil analysis . That's the only way to know what's going on with the oil in your vehicle .

I try to spend at least 10% of my income on lottery tickets and oil additives.

Dad used to believe in STP. He'd lay a can on the intake manifold of his Travelall and drive around with it for a while to heat it up so it'd flow better. We liked to use it until my brother found out that the machine shop had a hard time hot tanking things clean that had had it in it.
Slick 50 saved an engine for me, but that's a story for a different time and place.

I use Techron in the fuel tank for the Carrera and the other cars.
For the Carrera I have done an "Italian Tune-Up": a full bottle to Techron for 20 gallons in about 5 gallons of fuel in the tank. Drive it hard. Fill the tank and drive it until down below a 1/4 tank. Refill the tank. Then do an oil change.

Don't forget the "cool collar" oil filter oil cooler and the "eram" electronic, fan driven super charger!

Oil additives are a waste of money

Wait? Wut? Our long lost resident Tribologist has spoken.
Doesn’t this sorta depend on what oil you are adding it to? What is your favourite daily driver oil these days? I’m still a fan of the Pennzoil Platinum synthetic made from natural gas and have switched to VR1 in the Porsches and Spec Miata.
