Macan safety

Hi we have a 2015 macan that does not recognize that someone is sitting in the passenger seat there was a recall done in 2018 but is not working again. So if we get hit the airbag will not deploy. I call porsche and they said I have to pay for it at the sum 3200. It seems to me that they should fix it or it could be a nice law suit.

I thought safety equipment was supposed to last the life of the car

Interesting, that is just for seatbelts

I have a Macan, and my passenger airbag sensor has issues too. I think there is a TSB

Who did you deal with? The Porsche dealer or PCNA? In theory the dealer should go to bat for you with PCNA. If not, I would contact PCNA directly. It’s a little surprising they wouldn’t give you at least some help paying for that.

I called pcna when the dealer said I would have to pay they said it was a one time fix but if you go online some people have had it fixed more than three times under the recall. The dealer said that they would have to calibrate for my wife's weight that doesn't make sense.

So I just talked to a friend that also has a macan and he runs an inspection station. He said he is going to start checking on how many don't work as his is broken.
