As I look back, I now recognize there was a gradual but steady decline in The Rug Merchant’s participation recently.

That guy inspired me to dialogue on this very site. I’ve ever since chided him on his going soft with regard to his rosy socio-economic predictions.

Come to find out, he and I grew up on opposite sides of the tracks during Boomtown, Detroit, USA.

And also during the riots.

Tabs the Maximum sure knows a lot about a whole lot of stuff.

Sorry to hear that "Tabdula the Great" is not posting very often these days. Hope he is ok and just sitting in the floor counting his money.

Regarding my livelyhood I have been the chief pilot for the #2 owner of the Phoenix Suns and AZ Diamondback ball teams for the last 23 years. Was with one of the major airlines before that. Have been very lucky and the last 23 years was mostly a joy but the last 5-7 years we have been busier than normal and I had to drop off of the internet much of the time.

I did retire about 16 months ago but dammit they keep calling to get me to fly. Something about those $100 bills that they keep waving in my face I guess! Keeps the 911 going!

Some of y'all know Tabby (as I called him) as Ted in real life and have met him. An Internet "friend" should just be that... imho.

I know a few months back, Tabs was dealing with losing old friends etc. and hopefully he'll return here .... I sure hope so....

A hiatus for us long timers is good from time to time....
