Anyone ever use the EMS Ab Stimulators?

I just wanted to share my experience with my EMS AB Stimulator. I purchased a fairly decent model that comes with pads for your stomach and pads for your biceps.

I started with the bicep's pads. These have a gel pad that sticks to your arms and a wireless electronic pack snap into it. there are settings from 1 - 22. I started on level 2 since the reviews state that it is pretty strong (they are correct). It goes thru a 25-minute program with 2 min warmup, 10 min stronger, 10 min strongest, 3 min cool down.

Oh boy, my first time I could not imaging going any stronger than level 2 as it is pretty intense. But, after 2 days I'm up to level 6 (3 times a day). All I can say is that I should be looking like Arnold very soon. Level 6 is like being in the electric chair. The pulses are so strong that if I don't hold onto the arms of a chair, I look like a retarded paraplegic. I took today off as my arms are pretty sore and it feels like I did several hundred pushups.

I tried the abs last night and due to my fat stomach, I had to start on level 6. The jury is out on this as I've only done the abs once but the arms.... that is going to be significant.

I’ve been told the stim things don’t work for strength or muscle development. Even if it did you have tendons and joints that also need development.

I once had a badly strained muscle in my hip that couldn’t be reached with massage. The stim got to it and the triggered motion was a tremendous relief for me. 20 years later I remember those few minutes of stim every day were the most wonderful relief while the muscle was healing. So that was my very positive stim experience.

How about just do curls and push-ups and pull-ups and squats?

I have been using E-Stim for 20 years for my muscle spasticity due to spinal injury. I haven't experienced any muscle growth at all.

The first time I read the title of this thread, I thought it was about an "A Flat" stimulator.
