Try this link. The XK-E story starts at 5:07. But this isn't the episode Shaun described.

Thanks Chris that's not it. From what I remember, the car was in part of the house or something like that. The widow had a decent amount of air time.

Sorry about that. I'll check my DVR episodes this evening and see if I can find it. I've got a bunch of them on DVR.

It's not season 17, episode 1 (unless he bought that '62 2+2 coupe in an earlier season).

it was a roadster and a long time ago, could be 10 years ago. I don't have a TV and only time I can watch anything is at my mom's before and after Christmas while visiting so it would have been a re-run I imagine.

His business was buying low and selling high...so he's bound to come across a douche at times. It's a fine balance between profit and fairness.

I found him very unlikable.

I found the wiki episode page for CCC. I believe it might be Season1 episode 13. I can't confirm that as I don't have the episode on DVR. That would fit your timeline though. Was hoping I had it as I wanted to see it after you mentioned what happened.

When it comes to the business end of our hobby, it is very nasty.
That, I learned the hard way once a car I bought as an enthusiast became a sought after collector car. I hope I pissed off all the right people when I sold to Evren at a friend price. I happily gave up $ and got a promise the car would never leave Turkey...screw the tall dogs peeing up lampposts. When I got a call that began with: "We're going to buy your car..." I hung up and contacted Evren.

(edit) The collector car world is one I don't want to be in.

Thanks Chris. The episode would only make you mad. And confirm any suspicions about WC.

Same as everyone else trading in collector cars…or anything else for that matter. Buyers and sellers don’t always see eye-to-eye with regard to the value of their vehicle in a given market.

Met him at a concourse once seemed nice but who knows. He purchased a 1963 250 GTL Ferrari on an episode, that had been in a garage for, I think 25 years. As I am watching the episode I realize it was a couple of blocks away from my house. You never know what is in your neighbors' garage.

My favorite was the one where the unseen car collector had a private race track in the Napa CA region.

Every time mine is open a Gypsy stops and offers me big money to sell my car. He just needs to take some pictures first. I guess they forget where I live because they never seem to come back with the money
