Yeah, the carrera was a hit actually . We ended up bouncing around to a few different places, and she rode with me . Loved it . Super nice , cute lady with her head screwed on fairly tight as well . My buds stopped in and had a few drinks with us, and they both gave me the thumbs up.
We ran into a group of her daughters friends at the second place, and apparently, we missed her ex husband buy an hour . We had some good laughs talking about how that would have transpired . We all know each other
Thanks for the advice ! I didn't want to come off like a show off or a tool . She already knows I play with cars , so I figured I was kind of safe .
Why have em if you are not going to drive them ?
It really is bizzarro land, being single again at my age, having been with a next level good wife/partner friend for 27 years . I was a lucky guy .

That's definitely a good date. I'm glad you had fun. So are y'all going out again?

Glad it worked out well.
I've got one for ya, as I'm in the same boat for the last year.
99% catfishes and crypto scammers. One flat-earther, and one with so many mental issues it was a dodge like hot coals coming out Satan's bunghole.

About two weeks ago I started chatting with someone who I determined wasn't a catfish. Fantastically gorgeous Filipina that lives on the other side of the state.
Thursday before last, we decide I'll make the 200 mile drive out so we can meet.
She pulled up in her jeep, get out, and OMG. The photos didn't do her justice.
5 foot tall, just a bit chonky with unbelievable curves. On the younger side.

"put a ring on it NOW" kinda wowzer.

She hands me the keys to her Jeep and says we're going up the hill to watch the sunset. So I take the jeep up, about 1.5, maybe 2 miles up a large hill that overlooks the valley. You can see forever. We talk for two hours. Great conversation. Two kids, wants more.
She's into off-roading, those 4-runner speed vehicles.... snowmobiling, scuba, skydiving, etc.
The preference for country music was...meh.......which could have been ignored by me.

The sun goes down. It gets dark. She says she's going to put on some music.
She gets up, gets in her Jeep....

...and leaves...

Wut?

I tapped out of online dating right quick . No photo below the necky , no datey with Freddy .
My first online date , was about a year after my wife passed. I figured Id have to get back on the horse eventually .
She invited me over for dinner . Told me " just because you are coming to my house, don't think you are getting lucky " .
Big girl, made me tacos, and right off, tried to get on me . I saw her heading for the one couch, so I headed for the other. She got up and sat next to me . She was so freaking handsy. I tried to remain gentlmanly , but made a bunch of excuses and headed for the door .
I wish I was still married . Life was good

Wait - from the top of the hill, she got in her Jeep and left you there? Did you leave something out?

eh, i dont have a date car. most of the time my racing hobby are not something i tend to bring up on dates, because the women i date dont give a **** about it. its mostly a liability rather than something fun and exciting about me. racing cars is a dumb hobby, ask anyone who does it, lol.

that being said 99% chance i end up with a miata on a date. just cuase 99% of the time im driving a miata.

i dont think ive been on a first date since i bought the 911, cha, i was dating everyone i am currently dating before i bought that car. in my early 20s id always drive the 944 but that was a different era, and dating for a different reason.

I'm absolutely shocked she met you somewhere without a bunch of people around. No way I'd risk my safety that way.
Perhaps if she had picked somewhere she felt safer, she could have let you down with some decorum.

PS: It takes us a lot longer to decide we want to date someone. I find that catches y'all by surprise.

Yep, gets up, gets in her Jeep, and leaves after saying she's going to put on some music. In the Eastern WA desert, dark.

I have a theory that she's screwing with people for fun and...cruelty? Other than that, I cannot fathom. The conversation was great, plenty of mutual interests except for the music thing. We'd been talking via chat, text, and phone for about a week at that point and things were going great.

There were people around at the beginning, but a ways off. Popular spot to go watch the sunset.

And a great song, too. Wrote something a few days ago that I'm calling "Spellbound" that I'm currently working on.

First impressions matter: always take the Porsche!

This thread reminds me when I first dated after my 19 year marriage ended 13 years ago. I got back to a date's house on our second date. She said, "you look nervous". I said, "I am, I feel like a high school kid". She said, "if you're trying to decide whether or not to make you move, MAKE YOUR MOVE!"

A 911 dating story for you. Someone and I had been chatting online and decided to meet in town for pizza and drinks. Afterwards I said I'd give her a lift home. We were walking towards the 911 and not knowing it was mine she said "OMG, there's a Porsche. I love those things." When we got to the car I said "You check no one is coming and if I can get it going I'll give you a lift home in it." She said later it gave her a good laugh.

I'm little later here.

I know my modern looking Jaguar can leave impressions rather different than my lifestyle.

An old Porsche or Corvette?

Bring it.

If she doesn't want an old car 'round its better to get that out of the way early.

'Cause I sure like having an old car around.

Cars generally don't matter, if anything, a Porsche or similar car can be a negative to some women. When I had my beautiful Pacific Blue 911SC 20 years ago, I briefly dated a chick who asked me if I cruise around picking up women in my car. I told her that I didn't need a car to pick up women.

What else was I going to say? It's such a stupid question.

That said, I've always liked the cars a lot more than the image they project. Of course there are exceptions...some women might find a car to be beautiful and appreciate it as an object. And once they get to know you, it really should not matter. I have a woman friend, 40 y.o. divorced and a knock-out who drives a 993 coupe when she is not driving her Toyota PU. The 993 was a gift from her brother when he moved back to Australia...nice brother!

Cindy didn't see my Porsche until we'd been dating a while...
