You can find an FFL on the Gunbroker directory and you definitely cannot ship out of state to a non-FFL. Most home based FFLs charge $20-35.

BTW, I've already had someone on Gunbroker mail me two guns with no heads up. Friday I was putting my helmet on to ride home from my FFL office and the UPS man rolled up and handed me a package. I didn't have my computer with me, but I had to log it in asap. The second gun is lost in the mail now and the shipper was a whopping two miles from my office, but I suspect his FFL does not allow face to face transactions. Such BS. I'm headed out of town for two weeks on Thurs, so if this isn't wrapped up by then, the buyer is gonna be pissed, but it's his own fault.

Thanks, Rick, for the advice.
I found an FFL off of GB a mile from my friend’s house. The FFL is great, former Marine aviation technician. All is well. |

My previous post about not shipping to a non-FFL out of state might be a little wrong in some states. I know there are agreements between certain states about allowing long gun sales in one state to residents of another bordering state. I saw a sign about this in a Walmart in Henderson, NV long ago. But again, you will never find anyone at the USPS who knows about this with any authority. And I got a threatening letter from USPS once when I appealed an insurance claim denial when they lost a gun barrel I shipped. They said they could refer me for criminal charges for shipping a gun without an FFL. The ignorance of the law is just unreal. And again, the ATF investigator who handled my case didn't know FFLs can use USPS. So you're really on your own out there.

FFL to FFL.
They have both been great. After reading some of your posts, it was clear to $30 each end was a bargain! |

And the guy who bought two beater .22 wheel guns on Gunbroker and picked my name out of the directory for the transfers, oh boy, this is becoming a mess. I got one of the guns, but USPS has lost the other one. Buyer sent me a screenshot of the tracking and, of course, the other FFL, though his address is on the SAME STREET two miles away, totally screwed up my address and so the gun keeps going back to the post office when it can't be delivered. Better yet, the seller FFL can't do on-premise transfers, so it has to get to me somehow. I have insurance appts every hour on the hour from 9-6 tomorrow and am headed out on a two week business trip Thurs. Gee, this is so worth the $40 in transfer fees.

What?!?!

Just found this thread.
What a “whack a doodle” neighbor spreading hate. While it sounds like the wood guy is a good guy, his wife is clueless. Glad the HOA is staying out of it. Nice to recognize one for good behavior. Good luck.

Yeah, the second transfer today didn't go so well. The buyer has a CCW, which exempts him from a NICS check. But he told me he moved to Phoenix from Prescott last summer and hasn't updated his DL yet. That's a problem. He brought a paystub with the current address on it, and since he's an employee of a public school and thus a gov't. employee, I guess that suffices for a gov't. document. But I didn't like it. Then he didn't have any cash and asked if I took credit cards. LOL. He was pissed that a good chunk of one side of the wooden grips was missing. I entered his Gunbroker item number, pulled up the auction page and it was clearly showing in the photos and mentioned in the listing. This guy was a bozo. Didn't help that my FFL software is very clunky and I had to have their online chat agent walk me through it. But hey, I made $20 today!

UPDATE
I applied for my 07 manufacturing FFL two weeks ago. Yesterday ATF called to set an appt for two weeks out, then called back, said he'd had a cancelation and can come see me today at 9am. This one was much more chill than the last one and the guy lives in my neighborhood. I will be approved and, as soon as I have my new FFL number, I can pay for my SOT, which is pretty much a rubber stamp. Then I can deal in and manufacture NFA items. So, if you're in Phoenix and want a machine gun or silencer, or even a normal gun, I'm your guy.

You will definitely want to charge more for NFA transfers ...
And since you are getting the 07, when can we expect a special PPOT themed AR lower? Selector engravings ... not sure what afe should be but the other two could be Offf Topic and PARF ... ![]()

I really don't have the skills or desire to stamp out lower receivers. In my first interview, when I mentioned building up a stripped lower for a customer, he said I'd need an 07 for that. I couldn't believe it. If a stripped lower is already considered a firearm and is subject to all those laws, why would it be considered manufacturing to add parts to it, like a trigger kit and upper? No matter. Pushing in the pivot and takedown pins on an AR with my thumbs means I'm manufacturing. For another $150 in licensing fees I'd rather be on the right side of the law. And you have to have an 07 to get the SOT, which is where the money really is.

Ok, 07 FFL and Class 2 SOT in hand now.
If you're in AZ and want machine guns, silencers or SBRs, I can now manufacture, buy, sell and transfer these too. I hope my neighbors still hate me.
