Love or hate him, his leadership has made a huge difference in the world as we know it today. His EV contributions are obvious but Space X has eliminated our dependence on Roscosmos.

When the Space shuttle was flying they charged 35 million per flight to the ISS, once we retired the Shuttle that price went up to 75 million.

This booster capture is a remarkable feat of engineering.

Let’s see how long it takes the Chinese to steal it.

A bit emotional to watch.

I can't help but feel overwhelmed at the velocity that thing came back at, and the catch.

But a bit saddened that isn't NASA.
Kid me thought NASA was amazing.
Times change, and NASA changed with them.
What they where, they can't be.

And he made Boeing look like a bunch of bumbling dummies in getting to the space station and back. Fortunately for Boeing, he has two open seats to go fetch the Boeing astronauts stranded on the ISS.

Lucky shot!

Just kidding. Amazing.

Was on the edge of my seat. When the video froze right as the rocket came at an angle into the tower, I figured it blew up.

The amount of engineering and physics is off the charts.

Incredible. Experience with all the successful booster landings surely aided this effort.

Space X is doing things people may not have dreamed of. Kudos to all involved.

As a kid, Elon, I'm sure he had many.

I know I did.

for hours and hours and hours I'd pump and play.

My Dad worked on Wiring and Instrumentation for the Saturn V.

Hard to fathom .... I saw the Saturn V that went to the moon in early July of '69... toured the Space Center ....

Imagine what Elon could accomplish if he wasn't such a pothead

Awesome ... just awesome to see

That is wild. Seems like it would be alot easier to drop in the ocean with a chute but im no rocket scientist. Maybe they dont like salt water

Yes...exposed nozzles, engines, etc...

This thing is BIG, and it ends up right next door to the assembly building.

No need for hauling it across the swamp from the water.

The Parachute is also one more item to go wrong, it already has the engines.
Stresses are different as well.
