Esoteric on Craftsman wrenches
Ever wondered about the age of your Craftsman panel type combo wrench? Who made it? Looking to replace or fill in on a set you have? Made in USA ran from circa 1945 to 2008...here ya go:

I just watched it and it prompted me to go out and look at my wrenches.
I received a Craftsman tool box with a set of wrenches in it for a high school graduation present. I've kept most of that set intact for the most part all these years. Here's a crappy picture of some of what's in my box out in the garage.

Quite a selection Scott...I also have "Frankenstein" sets...a range of sizes composed of more than one brand.
The "Tool Bandit" video guy scrounges estate/garage sales, builds sets, resells on ebay. Must work for him since he's been at it for quite some time.

If I ever find the son of a b!itch who stole my first sets of craftsman wrenches and other tools, that I'd had for 45 to 50-plus years, I'll be sure and ask him (or her) if he (or she) ever checked out the year they were forged before they traded them for meth. (probably)

Those offset box end wrenches come in handy. I have a 10 that I used to use all the time.

Funny, my parents bought me one of those starter sets for X mas when I was 18. Turned out to be a better gift than trying to push me through college .
I still have a bunch of them, and tons of mixmatched f craftsman tools from over the years . I can def tell which ones were made in the usa , and when they switched over . I have some older craftsman boxes also . Im not sure if you can tell, but I love tools

There are much worse things than being a tool junkie. Fred nailed it...the post made in USA Craftsman branded tools simply aren't as good.

Of course we all went out to the garage and checked to see what we had.
Mine are a mix of years. Lost most tools to Katrina but purchased a complete set in Dec. 2005.

I’ll have to check mine in the morning, but I have a lot of older craftsman and then newer craftsman for bigger wrenches. If you look at my wrench drawer, the craftsman are to the far left and they’re always the wrench I reach for. The others are for when a standard craftsman wrench doesn’t work. It pays to be prepared
The 13 wrenches to the far right are my only standard wrenches. Everything else is metric and a lot of them are Gearwrench brand.

I have Craftsman Ratchets, sockets, end wrenches that are 50+
years old. Screw drivers too. THe screw drivers have had a hard life and they show it but they still get used. If it was not 25 degrees outside I'd check the dates. I checked -V- part number. Starting 1969 .

Most of the wrenches in my tool box are early to mid 80's Craftsmen brand . They have served me well as a DIYer . In all that time I have broken one ratchet , one breaker bar and cracked one socket . No complaints here .

I have a set from 40 years ago but I prefer my Mastercraft that are polished. Easier to clean.

 This is most of my collection. I bought a "new" 13 mm in the late 80s or early 90s as so often I needed two 13s at once.  I also have a set of these. My dad bought them in the 50s and he called then carburetor wrenches. The 1/4 inch one came in really handy once when removing a screw into plastic that had almost no access. I have them down to a 5/32. There is nothing on the back at all, and they don't have the raised bar of the front. The 15/64th side is not often needed!
