Truth be told. LW -1 was the better Christmas movie.

No idea. But, funny story. My now deceased father in law lived in Twin Falls. He was an avid fly fisherman. He was not worldly and didn’t know anything of pop culture. He taught Bruce to fly fisherman and was a fishing buddy with Bruce. My FIL didn’t know he was in the movies.

Not necessarily funny. Your FIL was just working with a fellow fisherman. Bruce probably appreciated being accepted as a guy who liked to fish.
Good lesson for us all. Many people put way too much importance on celebrity. Being famous doesn't make one a better fly caster. Your FIL had it right.
