Time to pull the trigger.....
My Dell laptop has been mostly dependable since I got it 15 years ago. But lately it's starting to show it's age. I've been told that I hould step up and replace it with a Mac. I'm learning cad which seems to overload windows quickly. What should I be looking for in a Mac that lends itself to Cad design and the like ? What would you recommend?

What cad are you running?
I use Onshape, works fine on a base apple laptop, and my 5yo dell. I add a big screen, eyes aren't so good anymore. I like the integration & compatibility with my iPhone and iPad.

Right now I'm using TinkerCad for learning the basics. I've not settled on any specific programs just yet.

Look at the Dell refurbished options. Economical, and reliable.
Unless you move to gaming or some more serious CAD work, most of what they sell now should be fine for you.

Been a few years since I looked (intel mac days) and Bricsys supported Mac Windows and Linux. Very reasonably priced compared to AutoCAD |
